Awesome concept. You get this thing running Android and you've got yourself a handset.
MUCH lower price - £940 (works out to $1400) starting price for the MacBook is much too high

Man, you cannot get a G1 in the UK for love nor money.
I've tried 4 separate stores, not a single one. On UK launch day between 3 stores in Liverpool they had a total 25 units.
what's with all the cynicism engadget?!
Woah! looks like what happened after a koenigsegg and a Lambo reventón had a drunken night together.
A better solution is this one in the uk: http://www.scooterman.co.uk/

basically, you drive to the party/bar/club/whatever, have a drink or two, phone 'scooterman' and a guy arrives on a fold-up motorbike and drives you and your car home.

Europeans care about Europe.
Crappy swatch thing.

"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
