Good memory/research skills.

But, looks like it never came to market. Must not have worked out as well as expected. Not surprised seeing as how ndivia and ati are still having a hard time getting sli/crossfire to scale well, despite having spent tons of time and resources on it. cool that they tried it anyway.

I would like to read more about exactly why it never made it, though.
True, it's upside down relative to the one on my m1210.
It's not like ati can't develop an equivalent fairly easily. Plus, since ATI and nvidia make hardware for the same programs, they'll be really motivated to keep it even and also make sure that there is only one "format", so that developers can use both sets of hardware interchangeably.
I agree with your sentiments about a higher powered graphics card, but i just don't see them fitting one of those beasts in there. not to mention being able to cool it. but you're right they should definitely be able to get more power into the thing. A 24 inch version would be nice.
Inspirons, etc. still suck, the XPS ones are awesome, especially for the price.
Cute how they matched the electric "plug" and gas cap cover. I wonder how exactly you plug it in.
I've heard of this before. You're not supposed to run, you're supposed to walk. It doesn't interfere with productivity at all. Saw a show where they tested two radiologists, one with this, one without. The one with one of these actually made no mistakes. I think it's a good idea for offices, but not for your living room computer.
God, don't you just have to love Nissan...
Gotta agree with you there, unless you really need inter-compatibility.

With decent (obviously not for gaming) PCs around for really cheap nowadays, you may as well get one to use alongside a Macbook. Most people don't really do anything process-intensive with their computers, so two slow computers would work about as good and for cheaper than one fast one.
They do, but of course it would be a lot better if they could just turn off one of the cores altogether. Independent power management is something Intel and AMD are working on for their multi-core processors as well. See http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2992&p=2 for more on that. Also, hybrid SLI is a silly thing to call this. It's just turning on and off SLI as needed to conserve power.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
