Last I looked the iPod nano didn't have and an HDMI port or recorded HD video, at $129 this looks like a good deal.
Also forgot to mention that the tool used to make a plastic part like that isn't cheap and needs to be replaced after several thousand uses (the heat used to melt the plastic begins to wear down the tool over time), the replacement of this tool needs to be taken into account in the sale price also.
Its more like a total of $2 when you add in packaging.

Then of course the final retail price includes such novelties as shipping costs, the retailers profit, the distributors profit and Sony's profit, cause you know everyone involved in its distribution and sale needs to get paid otherwise why do it.

That price isn't a Sony exclusive thing, think of this one.....look at the price of an iPhone case, they usually run about $25....do you actually think it costs them anywhere near $25 to make a case? NOPE, a silicon case with packaging runs about $1 per unit out of the factory.
@luke: Unless you don't have a Mac then it will cost you that too......Oh and that $99 is a yearly fee, I know, I just got my renewal notice.
Forgot to add that to develop for the iPhone requires a Mac, last time I looked Macs aren't free or cheap. Sure its good for people like me that already have a Mac, but what about the millions of other small independent developers that don't have a Mac, for them the iPhone SDK will cost at minimum the price of a Mac mini (cheapest Mac available) plus $99 a year.
Apples SDK may be free but you still need to pay $99 A YEAR to be able to publish so technically Apple's SDK isn't free to app publishers.

I also reckon that the PSP's SDK has a lot more game libraries than Apple's GameKit (which is only an API for peer to peer networking).
Here goes nothing.......I never win at these things, but Ill keep trying :)
Learn how the government works buddy, this was signed and passed before he came into office therefore he can't stop it if he wanted to.
"The loans are the first from a $25-billion program created in 2007 and authorized by Congress last year." -- source: http://www.freep.com/article/20090623/BUSINESS01/90623026/Ford+to+get+$5.9+billion+in+loans+for+fuel+efficient+vehicles
Obama wasn't president in 2007 when this money was approved.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
