Would have been cooler if the usb cable could be wrapped up inside by the other reel.
Otherwise its just a USB drive in a case with the activity light power connected to a few other items. Can we refrain from calling these things "HACKS" really the word has lost so much meaning in the last 20 years without associating it with hot gluing a flash drive into another case.

10 out of 10 for style, minus several million for sloppy hot glue job and cable sticking out.
LOL. Wonder how many locksmiths will start to carry IPhones with a "Master" key program on them. I say before 2009 is over someone cracks the encryption key and develops an application to start anyones car with physical access.

On the flip side, technology has its place and purpose. Remote starters are cheaper and look better on a key chain then an IPhone.
All these netbooks run either a modified (and in most cases very lightly) linux distro. Or Windows XP. I plan on getting an aspire one very soon as a secondary work computer, doesn't matter what OS is on it to me. Point, why doesn't these manufactures just get together and design ONE os to work with most or all of the netbooks.

I need an interface with big icons, like the ones pictured above. The only programs/icons he really needs are:

1. Firefox
2. VLC
3. Openoffice (Word, Excel, and ppt functionality)
4. Trashcan
5. Shortcuts to his Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

These applications can be used on pretty much any of the three major OS's Windows, Linux, even Mac.
If you know someone who is constantly getting infected its time to move them over to a live cd environment with the "Documents" folder linked to the hard drive.
Meow thats what I call a cool remote.
I think this is a very decent device. I don't often care about how something looks because I can always change that myself. However I would rather add paths myself, I don't need something constantly scanning my network. However with all that said, Bottom line. I'd buy it.

Jei
yipee, a kiosk with plastic parts to make it look like a sad robot rip-off. Apparently no one watches horror movies things like this where used back in the old side show days, less technical perhaps but still. Its been so long since I seen something thats genuinely neat or cool. Come on put up some suicide booths instead with live web feeds. hmmmmmm.
Specs are ok, but eMachine is not my favorite, a lot of MSI mobo problems in the past. And you could always buy another case if its that ugly. How many people actually display their stock case anyways?
Yawn @ arguing people.

1. Open Source platform (make your own apps)
2. First run of this product (Newer + more features coming soon)
3. Android will probably steal the market since openmoko has waited so long to release.

4. What ever happened to actually leaving a comment about the article?
Before long freesat co. will force cable to follow, after that it will all be available online for free, Most large companies already offer many of their shows free online. I'm just waiting for the day when miro and the rest offer something worth watching.

Still waiting for the day when all internet and cable/sat is free here in the US, but I won't hold my breath.
Yet one more car feature people don't really need. Considering how many people have hard enough problems driving due to talking on their phones, fixing make-up, trying to tune the radio to the game, or staring at other drivers, We really need a car that has more junk in it.

Develop a car that can recognize lines and dashes on the road, keep track of car in front and behind, and use gps to guide it to its destination and I'll be very impressed and happy. Otherwise keep the gizmos to a minimum when it comes to the vehicle.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
