@mrt2

I agree, but you forgot to add that you are paying for Apple to run quality control tests and use better engineering when they design their products. They also make sure the hardware they use works with the software.

I would love to be able to buy TV stations directly from the networks. With iTunes you don't even need to pay for some of their shows, while others cost a little bit of money. Now, if they went to a yearly fee for any Comedy Central show for example, I think that would work out for everything except live TV.

Now, if I could get the iTunes store directly on my Mythbuntu HTPC it would work a little better than having to transfer files, but that works.
I think that car looks 10x better than the VW's they have now.

Here are the plain digital magazines, and while it is easier to flip through them at the library, I can see using a color OLED tablet in the future. This would be great for college books as well. I'm holding off buying a new laptop to see what comes out actually. I just hope that this mythical tablet will be powerful enough, allow blue tooth keyboard and mouse, has the full Mac OS X, good photo color rendering, has a graphics card that can output 1080p, and won't get scratched easily. Is that too much to ask ;) ?

As for magazines, I like the concept of getting properly investigated news stories and carrying one tablet instead of 5 magazines through the airport would be better. The journalists do need to make money in order to do the reporting and provide the information that gets passed around and discussed on the internet.
@Griffin

Why would you want to carry a tablet around with you everywhere when all you need is a small phone?

If it has any streaming service (wi-fi works for me), I hope it is a one time fee for the life of the equipment.
Glad I don't use Comcast. Though I wonder who my neighbors use?

There is too much monitoring on the internet compared to what it used to be.
Sounds interesting, but I have my AV equipment in two different rooms, so I would need two of these I guess and a wi-fi network. Right now I just use IR repeaters that work 75% of the time.

I also hope that they have to IR learning feature correct and will allow me to add/subtract different button for a bunch of different devices.
There are more countries in the world than North America and Europe.

If it is going to be called a 'World Traveler' edition, I would expect it to have all the roads that Google Earth has. Then again, I'm waiting for the Google Earth model that has a 128GB (256?, 512GB?) SSD hard drive built in. I would also like it to include pedestrian routes and public transport maps and locations in major cities. I would buy that.
It seems like this solar powered airplane works, so it is replacing the gasoline with solar panels. They just need to design it like a fighter jet or B-2 to get more surface area and a shorter wingspan.

And, just as solar panels aren't 100% efficient, neither is the burning of fuel.

It sounds like DROID propaganda to me. If enough media people say it's good, it must be good...

How many new subscribers use the DROID, how many bought the iPhone in the same period? How many would have bought the other phone if their carrier had it? I know I would like the iPhone, but I would only buy new equipment when my current basic phone dies (and Verizon carries it).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
