Just picked up an Ipod Touch 2 weeks ago. My first apple product since playing Maze wars on a Mac+ LAN in my father's attic.

Wifi makes it, and I wouldn't consider a PMP without it. Multi-touch is pretty impressive as well. Being able to sit on my couch with a full very very usable browser while my wife dominates the remote is the cats pajamas. Without Wifi it is a FAIL.

Sign me up.
Fusion cells? They still haven't been able do Fusion without putting more energy in then they can extract.

Boycotting cars has nothing to do with intelligence. Most of us depend on them to get to work, like your parents do so you can type stupid things online on your environmentally unfriendly computer.

You know what powers most of the electric grid? Coal burning plants. While they're more efficient than individual combustion engines, they run RIGHT along the same line of thought you have for Hybrid cars.

Therefore I designate you an ignorant hypocrit.
The Canon 30D can be had for Under $1,000 for the body, and will blow the socks off any of this entry level equipment. I would stay with Canon and Nikon because of their lens quality availability. While there are some good 3rd party lens crafters, Nikon and Canon are both clearly superior. My personal view is that Canon has a slight up on the longer/faster lenses. You'll be happy with either brand.

I'm not a fan of the 350 or 400D as the body is just too small to comfortably fit in my hands. YMMV.
I own one. Not a bad car. I have the V6 AWD Premier.

My only complaints are the turning radius is horrible, and the transmission (which is actually made by Toyota) is sometimes unresponsive. Lots of power, great handling, roomy interior, reasonably priced (especially for an AWD sedan), looks pretty good, and gets decent gas mileage.

Do you really think magical upscalers in $99 DVD players are inventing data that isn't there? Seriously? Also most HDTVs do contain a scaler, and any of the decent brands (Pioneer/Panasonic/Samsung etc.) will have a better scaler (I'm sure) than this $99 DVD player. All upscalers can really do is reduce some commonly observed artifacts in standard def programing, mostly due to the interlacing process. Even that is hit or miss given the original quality.

Google Current Assets: $13.039B
Verizon Current Assets: $22.538B
AT&T Current Assets: $25.553B

More money they do not have..
Google has around $13 billion in current assets (Cash)
Motorola has around $30 billion in current assets (Cash)

Google may have so much money compared to you or.. you.. but they're not overly wealthy in the corporate world. They're young, have low costs, and good cash flow though.

I'd buy it if it weren't locked down, and didn't cost me my first born..
Ummm, rear projection CRTs are #1 in Picture Quality rated by everyone who ever counted. Check out avsforum.com if you ever want to know anything..

"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
