I heard some while back that JD's engineers were working on Switched Reluctance motor designs. I too am a motor/driver designer and these are very credible designs. Think of the power of brushless DC without the fixed static rare earth magnets at the expense of more CPU power to generate the and control the flux. A nice mass produced application such as a cleaner or a washing machine is exactly what the technology needs to lead it into more widespread products.

Is there a MP3 standalone player alternative that will do basic DJ operations that needs nothing other than a connection to the active speakers? Particularly I want something that will very quickly allow me to add cue markers to the loaded tracks and to jump to them very rapidly and smoothly
3W if it's an RMS measure will do fine and could be quite loud for s handy Bluetooth speaker kit. I wish more companies were oferring similar products as Parrot.
So this dongle has the ~100m range but the interconnected peripheral must need the same technology for the return path, surely?

What manufacturers, such as Parrot's and their Bluetoth speakers, offering with 2.1 interfaces at this time?
I have the Tangent Internet WiFi radio, I absolutely love it and it looks so cool too!
It is notably missing Bluetooth A2DP playback as far as I can see.
Looks cool but I bet it is deafening inside its cabin.
Very nice speakers but where is Veronica Belmont?
I assume you were kidding 'azayzel' ? Yes, these are very close tou your eye but no more so that a regular pair of glasses. You do realise they have a correction lens and that makes a world of difference? That said, I remember trying on some horrible bulky headset back in the day when VR was predicted to be huge and was aware of people remarking on the nausea it caused. For me the nausea kicked-in after 10 mins!

Anyway, with proper design I quite like the idea of these HMDs but the picture quality would have to be worthwhile.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
