Jun 28th 2008 4:50AM No, they need to rewrite Windows 7 with a completely new kernel, keeping the important legacy parts in a compatibility layer - Windows desperately needs a fresh start, but it's far more difficult for MS as, frankly, Windows is in a much, much better market position than Apple was when OS X was first released
