Definitely want one :)
Maybe I read the forum posting wrong, but this was actually a 20 year old, not a 16 year old. Also, apparently Joe Dono (the scammer) had given some money and various parts up front for some of the work, so the shop was under the assumption that he was at least somewhat invested...

Some people are just dishonest to the core, I hope this guy gets what's coming to him.
Where exactly is this cotton-oil-based diesel you speak of? (Any in the Dallas area?)
I live in the Dallas metroplex, and I'm really not surprised at all that this ad is making it's rounds. When I saw it on the daily show two nights ago though I was proud that someone was finally going to lampoon them on a national level because they're quite honestly the worst commercials ever, lol.

There are way more than a few outrageous dealership commercials in this area, with Central KIA and Rodeo Ford being the most over the top that I can think of... if you want to see some more of what Dallas' finest has produced:

@ChrisL

The "simple" truth is that GM announced it wasn't closing this plant until 2010, when the former written commitment had the plant extended into 2009. CAW is in better shape now then they were, but they are just acting like babies with their mouths wide open.

I've been on the receiving side of a layoff and I can tell you if I had 1.5+ years notice, things would've been _much_ smoother for me.
Actually it's rated @ 22MPG city / 21MPG highway (still nothing great, but it's a good ~40% better than the standard Tahoe)
Good points, slight rebuttal / additions to point #3:

Current biofuels (specifically corn based ethanol) certainly fall into the "morally ambiguous" category with the low return on energy while requiring insane amounts of land for even the small deployment of E85/E10 that we have now. If you look at the immediate future though (think 2-3 years, maybe less), you will see there are a TON of biofuel options that are not only cheaper to produce, but take much less space to grow, and provide extremely low to no emissions. I think that E85/Biodiesel have a fighting chance, hand-in-hand with hybrid/electric technology to take us off of oil in the short term.

Anyway, to see some of the really interesting biofuels I'm talking about:

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
