Standing in Salt Lake City with my iPhone, 5 bars, still can't complete a call. No wait, it's 1 bar. Hang on, it's 5 bars again. No, it is 4 bars now. I haven't moved. Oh.. 1 bar. Call comming in. Hello? Hello? Oh, Hi! You still there? Hello? Call failed, Call Back? 5 bars. Call rings in... Hello? Oh, sorry about that. Ya? No, I can be there shortly. What's the address? 3800 West... Hello? You still there? Call Failed, Call Back?...
Where can we write to the presiding judge and file as friends of the court in favor of Verizon? Anyone have his email address? Or maybe in a twist of irony, the judge is an AT&T subscriber already in one of those big blank areas of the map...
Why? I mean, seriously. That is one of the worst things I have ever seen done to a laptop. I take that back. It is the worst thing I have ever seen done to a laptop. Ever.
Looks, um... stone shaped.
1. You open the flip thingee there and wear it on your head ala Dark Helmet - Spaceballs style.
2. The flip thingee is just the overly pretentious packaging and has nothing to do with the actual product at all.
640x480 @ 30fps
SD and SDHC storage @ 45 Minutes per GB
Divx (AVI) files
About 100 Minutes recording per charge

For $900 to get it to the US? Forgetaboutit!

My GOPro Camera does all that for 1/4 the price. Just missing the LCD for playback.

The 730's are a beast. We have used several of these over the last couple years. I actually went looking for one yesterday on Dell's website. The only machine there was the Studio XPS and the XPS 630 which offers the big Video and Hard Drive options, but does not have the newer i7 processors, or DDR3.

You can get i7 on the XPS Studio 9000 series and DDR3, but then you can't get 10K RPM Drives or Dual video cards. There is a serious disconnect in the offerings. They completely neutered themselves. I don't know what the ___ they are thinking.
If this catches on, and I think it will, you will quickly see display makers cranking out thin or no bezel displays to match up with the monitors. I can think of dozens of applications for this from schools, to museums, lobby displays, etc. You can get no bezel displays now, but they are hella expensive.
Back to school go I
ending of summer has come
yoda through me speaks
Studio XPS 13 -

Great screen
Good size
Secksi
Lots of power
Only gets overly hot if you leave it on High Performance all the time.
With the SSD option it is nice and zippy
Slot loader
HDMI out
esata
backlit keyboard

Hate the headphone jack placement. What were they thinking?
Needs more USB ports!
Wasted space on a display port. Does anybody besides dell even use it?
Tackpad could be bigger
This is it! This is the thing that will solve all economic ills and bring MJ back from the dead. Granted he may be undead, but hey, why split hairs. Bringing MJ would be the biggest stimulus package on the planet. The money machines would kick into uber-high gear. So grant me the wish of WiFi Music, Engadget, and bring back MJ.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
