From what I am reading on the specs, it is a basic netbook running Windows 7 starter. They added in a 3G card, A-GPS and a 16 cell battery- and they slapped a 'Nokia' logo on it. All this for 'only' $600 retail or $200 with a 2 year contract with a 3G data plan... That seems way overpriced for a cheap-ass netbook.

If I was looking for something like this, I would rather get a $300 netbook and pickup a MiFi card; At last I won't be stuck with a sub-par netbook that is tied to a carrier contract when something worthwhile comes out in 3-6 months...
Technically, Blade Runner was set in the era of the 'Nexus-6' replicant model- but it stands to reason that there may have been a 'Nexus One' around five major revisions before that...
The Higgs boson may need to send something else back through time pretty soon...

BTW- awesome pic; the foam hand was very well placed!
'...for the memory of a lifetime; Recall, Recall, Recall...'
Nice- so long as Microsoft is not planning on using the Comfort Desktop 5000 to replace the Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard...
I think they were clearance for $5.98 at Target yesterday...
Well fuck; I have actually been saving up for a PSP Go! when they come out on Thursday... Guess I need to look for something else that is worth buying -maybe from a company that takes care of its loyal customers.
Leave it to Apple and AT&T to innovate....
I have the 1st gen Popcorn Hour (A100) and I can verify that it plays back 1080p MKVs with DTS audio.

As for the difference between local and networked- it would depend mostly on your media server. I use a Windows Home Server with a few 1TB SATA drives and I have about a 3-4 second delay while the PH buffers the video. I have not tried 1080p video from the internal HD as it takes a LONG time to transfer data to an internal drive...

I would expect the new C200 version to perform at least as well as their 2 year old model.

I cannot express how much I love my PH A100; I am just tying to see if I can find a way to justify $300 for an upgrade to the C200... :o)
If you run TVersity Pro or PlayOn on a PC you can stream Hulu to the Popcorn Hour (or just about any other DNLA device).

Trying this out with an old PH A100 now...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
