Sounds like a good move with the itunes-scanning thing. It'll be interesting to watch MS and Apple duke it out on this one.
Jeffrey:

There would be lots of legal issues invovled with a gps unit in a mac.

ie. they can basically track you whereever you are, which would be good (in case you lose your comp) and bad (gets in the wrong hands)
I'm surprised this type of stuff don't really have that much exposure.
lol.. i like how everyone has the same first thought with such a device.
It's really more of something you don't think about. Your buddy sends you a link, you click play, and voila!

It's about convenience.
Maybe Apple should include some form of this in panther as an addition to bootcamp... like logging in to different machines, but also fast user switching? who knows. Definitely looks awesome tho.
Great Timing just as RIM get's off the hook. :-)
I know this is a little late, but hopefully i can still tag on? anyways.. cool phone.. and mad props to engadget mobile for doing this. they're really getting lots of readers (including me :-)) Althought i would have loved a smartphone, this can do just fine... ;-), ;-)
I can almost NOT feel it coming since my chances as of 9:33PM EST is 1 in 4012. But it's worth a shot right? ;-)
Wow. I missed reading Engadget for a few days and next thing I know they're giving away Treos? I'm never missing a day from now on! :-D
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
