I was number 5 on the list for PS3 this morning and I showed up 20 minutes after Gamestop opened. I hope that doesn't mean there won't be a demand on eBay. Need to at least make $60 for a second remote and nunchuck for my Wii. :)
Word on the street is that Gamestop is taking preorders for the Wii on Friday!

Red Steel is definitely on my must buy list for launch.
The Wii is $50 cheaper than Apple's announced "iTV" and both have built in wireless networking and neither have DVD playback. The Wii even has a better remote control!

So which online movie store has Nintendo teamed up with? Amazon.com is already advertising the Wii on their front page. Amazon.com Unbox channel on the Wii? I say, why not?
Okay, get ready for a fanboy response like you've never heard. I'll admit that this is a little out there, but who's to say it's not possible... and, honestly, I hope my dreams do come true. Haha...

The REAL REASON (yea, right!) there is no DVD playback on the Nintendo Wii is the same reason there is no DVD drive on the iTV device Apple just announced. Who needs it? Just stream video downloads from your home PC! There will be an option to download an Amazon.com Unbox channel (for free!) that will allow users to view their Amazon Unbox video downloads stored on their PC right on their TV. Why do you think Amazon is advertising the Wii on their front page right now!? It has to be true! ;) Good luck with your great movie store now Mr. Jobs...

What if this is true? It would explain the lack of storage on the Wii... Content stored on your PC that is easily accessible over your home network?

I'm even an Apple fanboy, but I sure do love competition and I would love to see the same functionality of the iTV available for less money. Either way I'll buy a Wii just for the games. I guess I'm still hoping that Nintendo is keeping a big secret to make up for the Wii being exactly as stated, "Less than $250." And the fact that it's a better deal to buy another Wii than an extra controller.

Peace.
Hopefully this will force Microsoft to release a MCE Extender that is actually worth a darn. Xbox 360 this, 360 that... I want small, quiet, and affordable for multiple rooms. I would think most XP Pro users who upgrade to Vista will upgrade to the version with MCE capabilities, so there better be some sweet extenders to go along with it. Come on Microsoft, what have you been doing since you released the first extenders!?

MCE w/ DVR + extender should be able to beat iTunes TV downloads + iTV. I'm not paying for cable TV so I can pay for shows again in iTunes. Go ahead and have a built in store if you think that's what everyone wants. DVDs are cheap enough and easy to rip to a HDD. We don't need movie downloads as much as an affordable and elegant way to extend our digital media to every room. Oh yea, not just mp4 or wmv either. ALL of our media.
I'm sure many of us have thought about doing something like this... I hope part 2 or even part 3 has info about controlling the ipod through the dock. I've always dreamt about a super dock in my car with buttons on the stearing wheel for controlling the ipod and who knows what else could be possible with a custom dock like this.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
