I have one of the new Sony NWZ-W202 mp3 players. I worked out wearing it a couple of times so far and I like it. Having no wires is much better than having wires when running or doing anything with weights. The capacity is only 2GB but that's more than enough in a device like this without a screen. The controls are very easy to use and the sound quality is good enough. Near the end of the workout, the earphones tend to slide out of my ears a bit but are still close enough to hear. There's really no way for the whole unit to fall off, even when running. It supports drag and drop in Windows XP (good job Sony!), no software or drivers required and it uses a standard mini usb plug. I wouldn't recommend running with it outdoors though because the earphones are the in-ear kind and you're likely to get hit by something when you can't hear it coming.
As far as I can tell, Rogers' only worthwhile plans are the $15 unlimited email plans for Blackberry and I think Windows Mobile phones too. The plan theoretically blocks other forms of data like web browsing, but at least you know you won't get hammered with any overage charges from Rogers. If you have a phone with wi-fi (likely bought unlocked from Ebay to avoid Rogers' offensive phone prices and contracts), you can always just limit yourself to web browsing at home/work/etc and using email everywhere else. That seems like the cheapest way to use email on a GSM phone in Canada at the moment. The system access fee shadiness still pisses me off though.
Are there any comments on the quality of the screen, particularly the viewing angles? The Asus laptop I have at the moment has a TN panel with the worst viewing angles in history. Even looking at it straight on, a large part of the screen already fades to gray.
Pentax K200D or K10D. The K10D isn't really an entry-level camera in terms of features, but it is in terms of price. The collection of Pentax limited primes is a great option when you feel like upgrading beyond the kit lens too.
I might be wrong, but I think the Wind has a standard SATA connector so you can easily replace the internal HD with a larger one or an SSD drive if you wanted to. As far as I know, the SSD memory in the Eee PC is fixed. I'd rather have the option to upgrade. A Wind with an upgraded 320GB hd sounds like a handy laptop for traveling or regularly taking to work.

I'd be interested in HP's Mininote too, if it came with XP instead of Vista.
Any word on Canadian (Rogers) pricing? I'm guessing $599 with a 3 year contract.
My favourite full-size headphones for use while out in public with a portable player is Sony MDR-7506 (or V6) for isolation, or Koss KSC-75 for sound quality and convenience. Both of these are very inexpensive. The KSC-75 are $20 or less and sound much better to me than a lot of $300 headphones I've tried.

My favourite headphones for use at home are Beyerdynamic DT880 and Headphile.com Darth Beyer V3.

I've tried a lot of Sony, Beyerdynamic, Grado, Audio-Technica, and Sennheiser phones over the years and the headphones I mentioned suit my needs the best. Also, recabling headphones might be a bit much for most people, but it does make a HUGE difference with most phones because most stock cables are complete trash.
So does this actually scale video to your monitor's resolution? If I have a 480p or 720p source over hdmi, will it scale it to a 1920x1200 16:10 signal with black bars to maintain the aspect ratio? I just skimmed the press release, and that bit wasn't clear to me. If it can do that, this will be very useful.
I love my K10D too. It's an awesome camera. Being able to use all the old Pentax lenses is really nice.
All of that plus either an HDMI or DisplayPort video output and I'd get one.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
