Audi's previous nav system did in fact play MP3s from SD cards (my 2002 does it). Also, the AMI mentioned in the article lets you connect not only iPods (which it can control natively) but pretty much any PMP as well as plain old USB hard drives. It automagically finds MP3s and playlists stored on the HDD and lets you navigate around and play them.
Ace (and others who complain about fluff articles):

The other thing to keep in mind is that most professional blog posters are paid by the page view, so it behooves them to put up every shred of information they come across, since each click of the headline is money in their pocket. It's not a perfect system, but it rewards excellent, thoughtful posts that attract a lot of attention as well as fluff posts that pad an author's overall page view count.

So think about it like television: you tolerate advertisements as well as in-show product placement (the TV equivalent of fluff posts) because they enable the rest of the content that you enjoy.
I personally accelerated out of crash just two weeks ago.

I was in the left lane passing two semi-tractor trailers. Something fell off of a car in front of the first semi and he locked up his brakes. I braked as well because it was unclear if the debris might also come into my lane. The second semi swerved into the lane behind me to avoid the first one and was bearing down on me fast. I got off the brakes and nailed the accelerator to pull away from the second semi (which obviously could not brake as hard as I had been just moments before).

@James Bowe

Founder is ALSO a verb meaning to fall down or collapse.

Both founder AND flounder would have been appropriate. Those who are voting Jeff down and voting James up need to read more than myspace postings and test messages...
Not to pile on, but it also has to be pointed out that given the orientation of the plugs, any decently sized "wall wart" transformer would overhang and block the pedal...

Next time spend 5 minutes thinking about how you would actually use a product before doing the final render in your CAD program.
Jeff, your comments reflect your millimeter deep understanding of the issues around the second amendment.

First: The Bill of Rights was intended as an individual bill of rights. Proponents of the BoR argued that the constitution created a strong Federal government that had potential power to infringe on individual citizens' rights. Thus, it is *far* from unreasonable to take the BoR as enshrining *individual* rights, including the right to bear arms.

Second: For every Japan there is an England, where crime skyrocketed after personal firearms were banned. Or Canada, where the rate of personal gun ownership is higher than the US but crime rates are lower.
It hardly matters if you give away your ideas, you'd never be able to protect them anyway since you apparently don't know the difference between a trademark and a patent ;-)
*Champing* at the bit
@AlexP: You must be conveniently forgetting the Honda transmission debacle (I used to own a V6 Accord, so I know whereof I speak). They're about the same, quality wise.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
