I know, it's absurd. Males 18-35 are an insignificant demographic. They have no disposable income and never buy anything, especially cutting-edge technology. And robots and sci-fi imagery? Hello? What do they think this is, the Eighties? You might as well try to convince people that Cylons are sexy.
I almost bought one a few weeks ago, until I noticed how ridiculous their prices were for "upgrading" the memory selection. Their whole site is rigged to make it seem like you're getting a discount, and then they jack you on minor tweaks to the default build. And for some reason you could only get the case in red, which made me wonder if they were getting rid of remaining inventory.

Anyone recommend a boutique dealer? Or a collection "known good" builds of recent hardware?
I'm gonna hack Android into it. BOOYEA!
What are you whining about? They released an HVGA phone that has higher pixel density than the iPhone. Isn't that what matters?
blackberry only has 16 million users total, I think the iPhone is steam-rolling them.

You fanboys are such fucking retards:

With the price drop, and expansion into new countries, the iPhone might finally catch up.
Apple fanboys are the house slaves of computerdom.

Why don't you grow a pair, and stop the submissive apologetics? Apple is the new Microsoft. The iPhone is "Trusted Computing" all over again. You aren't rooting for the underdogs, you're cheering as they're getting stomped on.
Why is the whining about whining always much whinier than the initial whining?

Erica has done more for the development community than you chumps have, so she earns the right to bitch about AT&T. When your opinion matters, maybe you'll get to write for a popular blog.
"Of course, the problem is easily fixed by either holding down the Control button or -- wait for it -- buying a two-button mouse."

So, what you're saying is, the problem is solved by employing an inelegant work-around, or avoiding Apple altogether.

On the laptop you have little choice without a desk, and the two-finger tap is as equally (and often) annoying when it goes off by accident as it is convenient.
Not a real threat to Apple TV? What the hell are you smoking?

Their on-demand offering is currently no more than a incentive to get people to sign up for their mail-based service. They've been testing the water. They've already got deals with every major studio, so what makes you think they'd have any trouble licensing first-run movies, especially now that they have secure box for the studios' precious, precious bits?
I think that a gaming platform that has a full operating system on it has some very intriguing opportunities.

As opposed to those that don't? Do you even know what the frack you're talking about? Perhaps you are confusing the locked-down console approach with the open general-purpose computer. The iPhone is somewhat in-between.

The funny thing is, it has been tried before. There is the Series 60-based N-gage (which sucked on both attempts), the Palm OS-based Zodiac (which was awesome, but cost too much and never got off the ground), and the Win CE-based Gizmondo (which was imbued with FAIL from the get-go by its inept mafioso management). The only winner has been the plucky GP2X, running Linux and manufactured by a Korean company, which survives by keeping costs down and catering to a sophisticated customer base of computer nerds.

The operating system, or lack thereof, really has nothing to do with it. What Apple does have is a preexisting user base and their distribution system down tight. Apple will probably sell half a million Bejeweled clones in its first month of app store. But the current hardware will never be a serious gamers' device. It doesn't provide enough accuracy or control.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
