Sep 9th 2008 2:25PM Wait for the reviews, but these don't appear to be a rip-off at all. They have 2 drivers and the remote w/ mic &volume controls. That combo of features is tough to even find in any competing in-ear headphone, regardless of price (which at $79, isn't too bad).
HOWEVER, The product page does not list it as being compatible with the iphone. I was looking to make sure that it can be used like the current stock iphone headset, but the ability to take and hang-up is not listed and the mic is to "record voice memos on supported ipod models".
It would be really lame if these don't work with the iphone. Especially since there is no reason for them to not work.

Apr 25th 2008 3:58PM I agree that a full black case (especially glossy) is a bad move. I trust that Apple will make it look good, but I'm worried about scratches.
That said, I wouldn't doubt for a second that a full black case isn't in the final product. Lots of companies use different casings for prototypes. They do it with cars all the time. This sounds different than a BMW covered in black electrical tape, but the rationale is there. I'm not giving up hope just yet that this'll all turn out good.
Incidentally, I'm getting one on day 1 regardless. I lost my first iphone on vacation and have been suffering going back to winmo for a few months now. It's awful. I can't wait to get back to iphone goodness. I hope this one has a thing so I can chain my new phone to myself (jk).

Apr 25th 2008 12:33AM It is pathetic to still not meet demand after 17 months. Ebay has nothing to do with this. Ebay is a tiny percentage relative to the number of consoles being produced; and if Nintendo came even close to producing enough units, ebay would be less and less popular.
I don't think this is due to Nintendo wanting to keep the wii "sold out" to stimulate demand. Not anymore anyway. I think it's just Nintendo being WAY too tight with their money. It's the most pathetic attempt at managing a supply chain I can think of. An estimated $1 billion left on the table from the holidays?! People most definitely need to be fired.
I got my Wii a couple weeks after launch by standing in line btw.

This got me thinking about getting the basic version instead. It seems like the upgraded versions only offer prettier experiences, but nothing too beneficial. That's such BS for Microsoft to rip out features for different versions. I'm happily enjoying my $109 upgrade to the single version of Leopard.
I like Microsoft, I love my Xbox, but it seems that they just absolutely suck at making operating systems. I can't stand Windows Mobile either. Ugh. Not looking forward to this.

Jan 31st 2008 8:53PM This stinks. Moto doesn't make bad hardware, but as everyone knows, the software is awful. The need to seriously focus on software.
I'm surprised they're considering getting out. The Razr did great two years ago. They kept being profitable through 2006. 2007 is their first year of loss in the division and they're considering dropping it??? I think Apple showed that there is money to be made, even with the competition. It seems strange for a company that's been in this biz for so long to jump ship only 2 years after such a revolutionary product... one that was only equaled now by the iphone. Moto doesn't think they can do it again? What BS.
