1 GHz Eden proccessors are not slow. im useing one right now and have used it for more than a year as a silent home computer. its perfectly fast enough for everything online, office application stuff, photo editing, etc. all that for a proccessor that uses at most 7w! and is quite cheap in the mini-pc form.
that tablet has been around for awhile. its for sale on ebay allot and its said by many (some here) that its crap.
yeah that price bumms me. but i might do it. i totally agree with #16(martin). i done want it dependant on the home computer being on and it needs to be very phone like in order to get used.
pete7steps you are right, they need to think of it as an extension product rather than a whole new endpoint. i think all the storage should be on a flashdrive and it would boot from sd. then you can update/replace/clone the OS with absolute ease. no hard drive, no more than a 1ghz via ulv or maybe a geode but keep it cheap.
that guy on the right needs to lay off the morning martinis. and nothing says TOOL quite like pinstripes
FTA.. "The drive comes with a protective cap which protects the USB connector."...wow! that rocks! what a deal...it comes with the protective cap! cant find those just anywhere
#5 rektide i have that router and the usb port is powered, i havnt whipped out a meter to see how much, but it does power a flashdrive i use for ftp storage. otherwise, thanks for the other info.
man i love this kind of stuff, buy cheap stuff off ebay, build crazy frankenstien devices, invent invent invent. i think this kind of creativity is one of the greatest things out there right now. makezine.com, hackaday.com, anybody got some other great sources for this kind of basement/garage madness? corporate america can go bite my shiny metal ass.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
