Wrath Beta patch notes: Paladin part II {WOW Insider}

Jul 18th 2008 2:25PM I'm still worried about how bloated the Prot tree is. It was never slim, but now we are almost obligated to take certain talents. There is little chance to get some of the more attractive ret / holy talents.

Forum post of the day: Purchasing raid epics (poll) {WOW Insider}

May 7th 2008 3:06PM Here is my thinking. If your guild isn't running the instance, then you aren't saved with a guild run. If it isn't a guild run, and you still make your required runs, what does it matter what you do with your free time? If the other guild is OK with it, and you are fitting it in, then what business is it of the GL? Would be be pissed if you bought crafted epics also? Is that not allowed?

Where did you get your WoW name? {WOW Insider}

Nov 14th 2007 9:32AM My main's name is from a book, Sandtiger. My alt's name is Ozymandias, from the King of Kings. I also have a rogue called Penzance (from the Pirates of). I have a mage named Nemmerle (from The Saga of Earthsea) and I also have a retadin named Retnoob.

Retribution gets passive threat reduction! {WOW Insider}

Oct 16th 2007 3:18PM @ 12: Such vitriol. I'm a big fan of letting other people raid and spec how they want, as long as we kill the boss. If someone wants to raid retadin, its their 15 bucks a month. If their guild doesn't care, why should you?

How to get the attention of a blue {WOW Insider}

Aug 23rd 2007 11:45AM I'm looking right now at Ferals since I have most work with them. It seems to me they are complaining mostly about scaling. Right now they scale INCREDIBLY well up to SSC - so well, in fact, that druid tanks are sought after for almost all fights. With just a few epics you can get maxed out armor and 17k life plus almost 35% dodge in bear form. Add that you can, in the same spec, DPS just by switching forms (or another armor set, but same difference) then it seems they are OP.

I get where the issues fall from, but as a pally we start slow tanking and end slow. I guess we can heal in prot, but not that well, since we lost any and all viability due to lack of mana efficiency. The majority of players are NOT past SSC, so for the majority of players druids are still amazing. I get that there should be some upgrades, but I'm not sure what. It seems like a lot of QQ from my perspective.

The Light and How to Swing It: The great divide {WOW Insider}

Jul 17th 2007 12:47PM My biggest problem with Ret (pre-bc everyone, to qualify) is the gear. A s-priest needs int, spirit, damage and healing then stam. A warrior dps needs str, agi, stam.

A paladin dps needs, to be effective:
350 str
250 agi
400 stam (dun die!)
300+ damage and healing
300 int
45+ mp5

So, they don't need spirit. You could fix this, easily, with a talent that said something like "int gives damage and healing / mp5" at the top of the ret tree, or maybe change it so that str gives crit rating. Its a viable tree if you have the gear. Pallies and warriors are the two most gear dependent classes in the game, and right now we have tons of healbot gear, SOME tank gear, very very little ret gear.
