Panasonic's Atom-based UMPC Toughbook preps for shipment {Engadget}
Jun 23rd 2008 4:22PM I just wanted to say props for actually reading and coming to understand someone else's point of view, and admiting that you might have jumped to conclusions on top of apologizing for it.
I think this is a first on the internet, or at least engadget.
I commend you sir, for being a rational, respectful human being in this wasteland of human ethics which is ruled over by anonymous fanboys tirelessly waving the banner of companies which could care less about them and the pigheaded war they wage on everyone else's opinion.
Seriously, thanks. You made me smile.
Super-strong nanopaper is seven times stronger, 1,000 times smaller {Engadget}
Jun 10th 2008 3:19PM Then you won't be able to tear off the sheets you want, and you'll get frustrated and/or clog your toliet with a whole roll of paper, I'd guess.
How would you change Lenovo's X300? {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2008 7:10PM Seriously guys, can we get off the brushed aluminum and/or white shiney plastic train for just long enough to pull our heads out of our asses and realize that there is more to a laptop than how it looks, and that looks are incredibly subjective. Some people like minimalistic slabs of rounded white plastic or brushed aluminum with a big glowing corporate logo on the back. Others prefer minimalistic slabs of black magnesium with small corporate logos in the corner.
Personally I belong to the later group of people, but you won't see me in every single Macbook/Pro/Air thread exclaiming how I think that Apple needs to stop whatever they are currently doing and start catering to my specific design tastes and until then their laptops are automatically inferior.
Laptops are not jewelry. Some people use them as such, but they are tools. Ugly hammers work just as well as pretty hammers of equal build.

Bug Labs sells-out of initial inventory, founder pumped {Engadget}
Mar 27th 2008 4:02AM Well, I know what it *is* but I have yet to figure out what it is good for. I admit that being able to essentially build a gadget to your specs on your terms with a nice open source os is nice, but considering the size, price, and limited uses of the components being offered I can't figure out what the use for it is other than 'toy'. Not that it being a toy is a bad thing, but, eh... I dunno guys, I'm not sold at this stage.
Olympus Evolt E-420: smallest, lightest, possibly most retro DSLR {Engadget}
Mar 5th 2008 3:05AM Really? I thought the house of canikon would simply light a spliff and not give much of a damn. Not that I'm hating on the E-420 or Olympus at all, my dslr is an Olympus and I don't drink any canikon koolaid, but, I mean seriously, is the E-420 a big deal? Tis a nice entry dslr, not a showstopper.
Sharp's laser to enable 6x, dual-layer Blu-ray laptop recording {Engadget}
Feb 14th 2008 2:57AM We don't produce consumer electronics in America? We have them made in countries without labor laws? Newsflash? Hows that rock you've been living under for the past couple decades? Nice and mossy yet?

AirMail: the manila folder MacBook Air sleeve gets real {Engadget}
Jan 17th 2008 2:50AM Cute idea. One thing though, if you are a web designer, it tends to cast a bit of a negative light on your skills when you proclaim that you are a web designer on a site that mediocre. Also, nice stunt, since you must have realized that making a silly product like that, whether it'll actually sell or not (and it might, sadly), will garner more attention and page views that any of your other projects do. Oh publicity, you dog you.
Sorry bit of a negative ranty mood tonight.
