Palm Pixi seen running webOS 1.3.1 on video {Engadget}
Nov 10th 2009 10:51PM Sad too 'cause the Pre's camera is very fast. One of the best things about the phone, really is the camera. It's way faster than any Nokia 5mp. Fast as the iPhone but has a flash. & back loads so you can do really fast shots. Sadly it's not autofocus, but fixed focus. Works most of the time, however.
Palm Pixi seen running webOS 1.3.1 on video {Engadget}
Nov 10th 2009 10:43PM I am pretty much a palm fanboy. never was until i had a gazillion n series nokias, an apple 3gs & then the palm. it just does exactly what i want in a very elegant way.
that said: pre & pixi appear to be equally laggy. not good.
still no video recording, no real decent applications (where's my chipotle ordering app?) & their stock's being downgraded. not good.
really hope verizon puts some energy behind it. DROID just looks too industrial for mainstream. iPhone's single app paradigm is very frustrating. Nokia's just totally floundering.
Palm Pixi definitely shipping with a new webOS version, but which? {Engadget}
Oct 31st 2009 3:59PM Just can't wait two seconds to see your brilliance reflected on the screen?
Updates are good because they fix things, add new functionality, allow future developments to occur.
My Palm Pre's working really well, but I'd love to see side loading become easier & heard that was something they were working on (maybe get doubleTwist to replace the ever annoying iTunes sync tete a tete)..

Oct 30th 2009 5:18PM It never ceases to amaze me how a terrible director & writer hit such a jackpot by lifting a Kurosawa plot (tenuous @ best) & putting it in space 30+ years ago...

Oct 30th 2009 4:58PM How much does George "moneybags" Lucus get for authorizing Droid as a name?

Oct 30th 2009 12:32PM How funny. I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I spent more time watching his outdoor shots (because of the beardless face & aviators) than I did reading the review (especially since I saw no multitouch & crappy camera).
Motorola DROID review {Engadget}
Oct 30th 2009 12:30PM I was worried that DROID would depress me since I got the Palm Pre just 2 months ago, but the things I like (really fast camera & keyboard) don't seem comparible.
Not sad yet.
Moto may be back but I think this device is too male oriented (I think Palm straddles the line much better). Most tech reviewers are male, so I wonder how much we'll hear about this.

Oct 29th 2009 11:08PM I've never seen a product by a carrier that was supposed to be hyped get so dumped into the toilet. Oh, well RIM. DROID 4ever.
Palm Pixi on sale November 15 exclusively at Sprint for $100 on contract {Engadget}
Oct 26th 2009 10:42AM I agree. I wish my Pre *didn't* slide. But I doubt I'll be switching (I mean, buying outright would be way too expensive).
If the camera was better & it had wifi I'd probably seriously consider it.
Paid apps hitting the Pre tomorrow? {Engadget}
Oct 1st 2009 10:20PM DrPodder has great reviews, but I don't want to spend the time setting up side loading. I'll wait. The built in player's actually not bad now that it has indexing, but downloading from my bedside rather than from my desktop would be very welcome (I mean my S60 could do it for years... but then the iPhone's implementation is kinda crummy too..)
