GC 2008: Guitar Hero World Tour to work with all instruments on PS2, 360 and PS3 {Joystiq}
Aug 20th 2008 11:20AM Do not praise them. This is the same company that blocked the GH guitars from working with RB on PS3. They announce this only in the wake of Sony PR saying they are going to make it happen.
Characters for iPhone updated to 2.0 {WOW Insider}
Aug 18th 2008 2:39PM I was messing around with it earlier, and it's very well done. There is still some stuff that could be added, but it is a seriously cool program as of now. The developer has done a great job and it is free.
What is nice is if you click on an item, it brings up the stats, gem slots, and where you can get it from.

Aug 18th 2008 11:33AM I don't believe this has been asked.
Any indication that the Consortium monthly bag is going to give updated gems, or maybe a "new" Wrath Consortium faction that will give out gems (ie old world Cenarion and Outland Cenarion)?

Aug 15th 2008 11:39AM "...and DK's... well, okay, so far no DK I've run with has wanted to tank"
Does not surprise me one bit. I expect a flood of DK and when you pst them if they can tank, the "macro'ed" response will be "Sorry, I am 'DPS' spec."

First look at Leatherworking in Wrath {WOW Insider}
Aug 14th 2008 10:29AM Everyone told me to leveling tailoring and make the shadoweave set for my shadow priest. I already have tailoring on my warlock and I refuse to level up tailoring for 3 items that are BoP. I like enchanting and JC thank you very much. I will not deny the +dmg is huge, but the low +int makes it seem more geared towards a warlock. Plus the cooldown and/or cost is crazy on shadowcloth is crazy.....
Time Warner Cable customers experience World of Warcraft trouble {WOW Insider}
Aug 14th 2008 8:56AM Not the cheapest solution, but I have a EVDO Sprint card from work, and I tried to play WoW one day when my DSL was down at home. I played on it no problem. I get about 150ms ping inside the game and it is easily playable.
I personally would rather have the stability of DSL, versus the potentially higher speeds of cable.

Aug 14th 2008 8:24AM I have not heard a lot of "premium" car stereos, but the best stock system I have heard is in my Titan (Rockford Fosgate). I believe it is 400 watts and 8 speakers. There is a subwoofer, and it actually produces a good amount of bass to round out the sound. It's not window shattering, but you can definitely feel the sound.
The "BLOSE" system in my wife's RX-8 she had was awful. No other word for it, but just awful. The Bose system in a Miata with only two speakers sounded a hell of a lot better. She currently has a xB RS3 (I think, whichever the green one is) and it has a "premium" Awia I think and it is ok. Sounds nice, but no real low end. When I was looking for a truck the Titan with the upgraded sound system was pretty good too.
Breakfast Topic: Direction for professions {WOW Insider}
Aug 13th 2008 9:18AM Yea I am with you on that. Engineers have always had cool/fun stuff, Tailors are getting the flying carpet (and can make bags), Blacksmithing is getting the gem socket addition thing, JCs can cut gems (which are universally needed, so very useful), Alchemy can transmute and discover stuff (again pretty useful/profitable), Enchanting is getting a huge "buff" to be able to sell on AH, but so far no love for leatherworkers. Other than armor kits and drums, leatherworkers are basically useless. Armor kits are nice but wooooo I can add +10 stam to armor, but it is overridden by an enchant, so a lot of times the enchants are better.
Drums while a cool idea, but two minutes CD and the recent nerf makes them even less pointless. I can't use them in Arenas, so that is one less place where they could be useful. I have some epic patterns but they are not *that* great. IMO LW (like BS currently) is not really worth leveling. Just buy your armor kits, and do without drums.
Even the gathering professions are getting a "buff", so please Blizzard give us LW'ers a good reason to keep LW versus dumping it and leveling a more useful or fun profession.

Aug 13th 2008 8:41AM "One of my early favorite tactics in AV is to stand in a corner where I'm unnoticed, dot everyone up..."
I did that *exact* thing last night, but on the horde roof in WSG. I did not use mind flay (only SW:P and Mind Blast), and it was hilarious. I would throw my dot, and move back (out of visual range). I had about 10 kills before they figured out where I was. Probably one of my favorite moments in a BG.
