You could argue that movie sales being up indicates a bad economy because people are looking for cheap entertainment. Even if you pay $30 for a blu-ray movie, that $30 is a relatively cheap way of getting 2 hours of entertainment for an entire family. Maybe more people are willing to wait until the movie comes out on disk and pay $30 (although probably less unless you don't shop around) rather than paying $32 for 4 tickets plus another $20 on snacks that you can have at home for about $4.
You do mean the former and not the latter, right? You do mention The Universe first.
Yea, but the word is also "than" and not "then" but nobody said anything about that. ;-)

"Either way, it'll be interesting to see how much better Iron Man moved discs then the previous record holders like Spider Man 3, I Am Legend and Casino Royale."
Now, if we could only get them to give WJZ the HD feed instead of the SD feed we would be golden.
I think you are talking about AutoMotion Plus, not 120hz. AMP is the interpolated frame tech, but even if you turn it off the TV still refreshes as 120hz.
Doesn't the HD DVD version use both sides of the disc? There are no combo discs in this version so all of the supplemental features that were on the DVD side for the HD DVD version have most likely been put onto two stand alone DVDs other than what could be fit onto the Blu-Ray sides.
Wait, no bashing of The Mummy in this article? I can't really blame Universal for putting this out because while it's cheesy, it will probably still sell some copies and make money. Let's face it, a lot of people buying blu-ray movies are looking more for something to show off their TV than an award winner. Besides, most action movies are cheesy, the acting just isn't what you are looking for when you watch most action movies.
Hmm, I'm wondering if that is a typo on the site, because the 7 series LCD is already out and it jumps from 7 to 9. It looks like the A780 was supposed to be the A850 because it seems doubtful that they would jump to localized led dimming on a partial series upgrade. Also, it seems odd that there is no upgrade from the (presumably) A780 to the A950 shown other than a color change.
I'll buy from Best Buy only when they are having deals going on. The 2 for $30 deal actually had some good movies and I picked up a couple, but other than that, they usually have terrible prices. I'm a sucker for movies that are priced abnormally low. That's what had me buy I Am Legend off of Amazon when it was $19 and everyone else had it for $25+ and why I bought Cloverfield for $17 the other day. Sometimes I think I even buy movies not intending on ever watching them. Hopefully, this holiday season we will see a return on some of those BOGO deals for Blu-Ray because BTGO just isn't a good enough of a deal.
At least so far movies with really bad transfers have been remastered and then an exchange program was used.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
