Holy crap, it's got a keyboard!

Kind of embarrassed that i didn't know about that before. Crazy.
Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/) is an exceptionally well-made app that imports DVDs (converting them to mpeg and many other formats). If you have a DVD collection that you'd like to put on your mac(1), or need to show a snippet of a film in a movie presentation or something, it works perfectly.
(1) Except that doing so would take a lot of time and hard disk space. :) And importing regular DVD's isn't technically "HD", but it's pretty decent, all things considered.
To be honest, I'm so glad they got rid of the number pad on the new one. (Or rather, I will be glad if I ever actually buy one.) I have the older Mac bluetooth keyboard, and you totally can't balance it on your knees and type comfortably because the darn numpad dumps it off your lap. I can't type unless I'm right behind the keyboard, and even on a desk keyboard-tray the numpad keeps me from comfortably putting the keyboard in the right spot.
Why couldn't they put the numpad on the other side of keyboards, so that you'd have your keyboard in the middle, mouse on the right and numpad on the left?
Er... where was i? ;-) Yes - the new Apple bluetooth keyboard is perfect for me because it doesn't have a number pad. Weird, I know.
I was pretty shocked by what I saw yesterday - not the comments, but the "rankings". Shocking. I've never seen an article with rankings that polarized. It honestly looks like someone figured out how to own the ranking system.
Either that or a very sudden shift in "demographics". It was definitely surprising.

Personally, I think that "Lowest ranking" every single post someone makes is pretty low, and an indication that no thought has gone into the button-clicking.

Personally, I think the new Zunes are very impressive, _and_ I think that Ryan Block is a very talented writer. Take that, groupthink! Tee hee...
I completely agree with Gene and R_K. I haven't upgraded to Leopard yet, but I'm planning to very soon. But I've spent quite a while trying to learn how to make Leopard look *more like Tiger*. When I realized that, I was kinda surprised. For every previous version, the UI look seemed to get better every time (and I think most people agreed). What happened with Leopard? I will definitely be installing Displaperture; hopefully by then someone will have figured out how to make the menubar itself look like Tiger's too!

I don't know why they changed it, and I don't know why I like Tiger's the way it is. But I do.
Interesting discussion, eh? I wonder how many people here were paid to promote their respective format.
If anyone admitted it, I can't decide if I would admire them more, or less. Hmm...
That's a really neat invention, but I don't think this is really the place to advertise it. I know there's a prize for page views in that contest, but nobody likes spam.

But still - keep up the inventing! I would definitely buy the iEye.
True - the possibilities are definitely interesting.

Although, the point of this card is to provide the wi-fi itself. In a smartphone, the wi-fi is built into the device, so the card would be unnecessary. What would be good is smartphone software (plus home computer -side stuff, maybe) that would do the same thing.

But yeah - the concept is definitely great for smartphones, but leave the wi-fi to the phone and make similar software for the phone, not the card, and just go with normal storage cards. Then you'd also have a phone interface to set up the system with.

(The plus of this thing, of course, is working in any camera (if I understand it right). And getting it to fit in, and be powered by, an SD card slot is dang impressive.)
""If Office stopped working with Leopard, college students accross the land would rise up in revolt against apple, and they wouldn't risk alienating one of their biggest markets.""

NeoOffice for the win, my friends. I haven't used MS Office in 7 years, now. :) (StarOffice -> OpenOffice -> NeoOffice.)
I'd just like to say that your poll options made my day.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
