AMD's quad-core Opteron processor now available in select systems {Engadget}

Apr 9th 2008 9:40AM @ IT-Accountant

I know, I'm just messin'. Truth be told, I've been a die-hard AMD fan for years, and it makes me sad that they're not more neck-and-neck with Intel. As much as I hate to buy Intel, I'm gonna go with whichever processor gives the best price/performance ratio, and lately that's been Intel.

C'mon AMD, I haven't lost faith...

...yet.

Alienwarez: Bios released to fix overheating Area-51 m15x rigs {Engadget}

Mar 19th 2008 8:04AM @Joe

Somehow I doubt you're intelligent.

If that video card produces enough heat to melt the plastic cases as people have reported, moving a little bit more air over the heatsink isn't gonna fix it. It may help, but it won't fix it. That's why Alienware is holding off shipping more units, most likely 'cause they're trying to figure out some kind of redesign that won't necessitate throttling back the GPU.

Remember, think before you post.
