Look out for deals at Lenovo. It's possible to pick up a ThinkPad SL410 for around $450 with coupons. Even though it's not built like a real T-series ThinkPad, you still get a very solid design!
At least if it had 3G GSM/CDMA capability, Fusion Garage might've stood a chance for this device to be offered at $99-199 on contract. At $499, it'll sell like ice in the Arctic.
13" MacBook Pro with education discount? Or, I'd suggest looking for a deal on a ThinkPad T400 on fatwallet or slickdeals. Don't fall for the consumer-grade crap at big box stores.
I can't believe you're giving up the Palm Pre. Call Sprint, tell them your reception sucks and you want to cancel your service. Hopefully (as they did for me), they'll offer the Samsung Airave femtocell ($99) and Airave service ($4.99/mo) all for free. I get 5 bars in my house where I used to get 0 or 1 bar. It carries your call as VoIP via your DSL or cable modem connection.
What's up with the 2 or 3 LED-lit dots on either side of the home "button"? My Pre only has one dot on either side of its physical home button.
Yes, it does text messaging.

The Peek Pronto 1.09 software is considerably faster than the 1.00 or 1.04 device you probably tried last year.
5 email accounts per Peek Pronto device. Not 5 emails/day. That'd be a bit ridiculous of a hard limit.
I wonder how the capacitive touchscreen would work with the stylus on the X200t. I thought all tablets up until now used a resistive touchscreen.
yes please?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
