Dec 6th 2007 12:51AM I'm actually kind of sad. I will admit it, I worked there for about 2 years. I opened up one of those new Compusa w/ GG stores and as crazy as it might sound, people came back to us (they came running to us after talking to BBuy/CC 15 yr old sales guys). It made a difference that our GM actually cared about customer's experience and got to cherry pick people to open the store. The store did great and then, guess what, they close the best store in the area (they over saturated the area with about 4 stores in ~20 miles).
Why they went out of business:
-Instead of keeping small they tried to expand to everywhere (actually more like 5 stores in the same area)
-Diversified into irrelevant markets (DVDs/stereos...really now?)
-Took away commision (aka took away all motivation to sell).
-Switched the uniforms....come on, who wants to deal with a guy with a tacky untucked shirt...what happened to professionalism
-horrible price matching policies
-horrible return policy
-stopped offering over the counter exchange plans (I loved buying stuff and getting the new stuff later on....on wait maybe I shouldn't have let everyone know they could do that too).
-stopped catering to their niche (what techie would be found there now?)
.....I can go on and on....now I'm just bummed I can't go get my last over the counter exchange, no LG Vu for me

Jul 1st 2007 10:27PM If I could only have a phone, it'd be an iPhone....why? My SLVR really isn't living up to my ipod needs...err...but then again I was able to put 'white and nerdy' as my ringtone. Atleast its got that on the iphone.
