or engadget got so much crap for only covering att outages that they finally slipped in a vzw outage. i know someone who has worked at noc for vzw and someone who worked for att. they actually both have several outages on a daily basis. when you have 50,000 cell sites its typical for a handful or two to go down each day. most people have no idea how many connections and companies a single call goes through to get to the other end. an outage that spans multiple states is definitely noteworthy. but it happens to every network. it sucks when youre the one affected by it. but overall you usually get a connection where you're supposed to be able to. (how fast the connection is, that's a different story.)
@Poop Chef

no, just 7.2Mbps
@yankees368
maybe thats what really broke it? lol
moto could really use this headline either way.
ive only owned maybe a couple motos ever
but im glad to see them coming out with nice devices like this and the cliq.
its a good turnaround over how they were looking a year ago.

idk what you are talking about. nokias products are nothing like the iphone. they are actually useful.

nokia already had a touchscreen phone
nokia already had an app download service
nokia already had music players
and i can go on for hours about how much more important functionality is over cute transitions between screens.
@Jack

what did nokia steal? they were already making touchscreen devices. all apple really brought to the table is a pretty interface with transitions.
@WickedEast

well nokia certainly didnt copy apple's use of multitasking, battery changing, microsd hot swapping, or price gouging.

too bad Vanjoki was being a gentleman and acknowledging that apple made a good device, and then apple turned around and threw that back at him. you know, nokia couldve been like everyone else and said "that device sucks and we're making an iphone killer!" his statement was more about giving customers what they want. if someone is making touchscreens and customers want it, then nokia can make touchscreens too. just like they had been doing before the iphone even came out. 5800 was NOT the first nokia touchscreen.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
