Thank you for posting. Entertaining.

I wish I had kept all my early 1980's Apple II mags. Yeah, but I also wish my mother hadn't thrown away my complete 1950-52 Bowman major league baseball card sets.

I helped a friend buy a new 13" MacBook today. First step was to migrate files from her 2003 iBook running OSX 10.3.9.

After - for some reason - not being able to create a disk image of her old hard drive, I called Apple Support to see what they recommended.

I went through two levels of Apple Support and - incredibly - neither level was aware that the new MacBooks don't have a Firewire port. One support guy actually argued with me until I told him to look at a picture of the new laptop. "How about that - you're right - there is no Firewire port."

Geez. I thought I had tumbled down Alice's rabbit hole.

In the end, I copied her user folder to an external drive, then moved the files to her new MacBook. Not very elegant because I had to do a lot of tweaking and installing that wouldn't have been necessary under the old FW-to-FW process.
Chemistry.

The first two MS ads were plodding things featuring too much talk between two guys who have no chemistry.

Apple's ad success is built on two actors with chemistry and a fairly light touch. They get on, make a point, then exit.

Kind of like the difference between MS and Apple - one plodding, the other fun.
Very clever post.

You properly skewered MS who have long been a drag-anchor on global productivity.

Oh yes. I've reached Medicare age but have never owned such a fine shirt.
Great lines and retro front end. But an Italian car has never succeeded in the US market. Don't hold your breath on this one, either. Too bad, though; it's a refreshing change from everything else that's out there.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
