Farewell, Jerry, we barely knew ye {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 17th 2008 11:01PM Chemistry.

The first two MS ads were plodding things featuring too much talk between two guys who have no chemistry.

Apple's ad success is built on two actors with chemistry and a fairly light touch. They get on, make a point, then exit.

Kind of like the difference between MS and Apple - one plodding, the other fun.

What's the deal with Seinfeld doing ads for Microsoft? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 21st 2008 2:15PM Very clever post.

You properly skewered MS who have long been a drag-anchor on global productivity.

Alfa Romeo Returns to the U.S. Market {Luxist}

Mar 19th 2008 10:14AM Great lines and retro front end. But an Italian car has never succeeded in the US market. Don't hold your breath on this one, either. Too bad, though; it's a refreshing change from everything else that's out there.

Air purifiers under fire for ozone emission {Engadget}

Jan 29th 2008 12:44PM Absolutely bad stuff.

We once had a boss who bought five of these things for the office. Most eventually "disappeared," but the remaining one kept chugging away in a public hallway. I would unplug it only to find that it had been restarted by the following day. On and on, ad nauseum.

My final solution was to just clip the power cord flush with the case. End of story.

Other ozone vigilantes should consider similar extreme remedies.

Hoverit's Lounger, the magnetically levitating acrylic chaise {Engadget}

Jan 18th 2008 2:24PM "Sorry Joan Rivers, Hoverit Lounger is officially sliding into the pole position for the most hideously awkward looking piece of plastic flittering around..."

Well done. Classic Engadget snark.

Meet the Disintegrator: 24 barrels of rubber band minigun madness {Engadget}

Jan 16th 2008 2:15PM Wow, to have been born in this hi-tech age. In the '50s, we fought our wars with a simple single shot rubber-band gun. Of course, it shot nails...
