That's by design since Caps Lock is pretty useless and this is designed to make it useful. Just hold down shift and click Caps Lock to enable or disable it if you need to.
Um, jlself, did you miss the part of the linked page that says "Who Made That Great Image of Billy Mays? That wonderful color artwork of Billy Mays was created by Glitschka Studios and is used with permission."
I already am, Tim. Some of it can't be worked around easily (licensing on Firefox et al as our license for the portable version does not extend to third parties). Some of it is minor stuff that can be fixed quickly (ensuring that the license is included and hosting it where required, e.g. GPL/LGPL stuff). Some of it has to be removed (some of the freeware like Winamp). And I've laid all that out for him so he can get things back up properly. I'm hoping to convince him to work with PortableApps.com, too, since many of the major apps in the collection are ours, anyway.
You know, this is a perfect example of...

wait, what were we talking about again?

Ooo... shiny.
All you need is love
Resource-wise, running multiple apps will be much less of an issue. Palm is saying "laptop-like performance" and it would seem they mean it. The processor they're using can be clocked from 600MHz to 1GHz. And the apps, while written in JS/CSS/HTML are far more functional that the iPhone's old widgets. Palm is providing JS extensions deeper into the operating system so you can work with the stuff on there including contacts and other stuff. They're not going to provide deeper hardware access in 1.0 (read: no 3D gaming) but you can expect them to in later releases (much as Apple did in later iPhone OS updates). They've already said they're going to give some partners deeper access off the bat.
Make it so the browser launches in under 30 seconds. I wanted one of these right up until I tried it, then I couldn't put it down fast enough.
Yeah, I was very happy with my Palm III and then later my Tungsten E. My Treo 680 has been a mess though (2 phones and 3 SIM cards to get it properly connecting and it still crashes randomly just sitting in my pocket). For all intents and purposes right now the Palm OS is very dead. If they staged a comeback with an open source app that did all it's supposed to do out of the box and desktop-side software that synced with Thunderbird/Lightning or whatever your choice, I'm sure a lot of us would reconsider. Until then, Android seems to make a lot more sense.
... for the Silverlight averse (read: pretty much everyone).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
