I am no Verizon fanboy, but I have a xv6700 and I have no problems with it except the volume and battery life. It does everything else I could possibly expect it to. I would think it stands up well to the iPhone (at least for what I use it for)
Chris, and just like a PC to Apple, the Corvette is no where near the Ferrari in terms of cool.

Don't discount the cool factor with the iPhone.
Try comparing the Ferrari to a Corvette? Something that's (almost) equally matched?

Oh my, Tom Selleck is rolling over in his grave, to say nothing of Europe.
The big shock here is that AT&T is able to lock Apple down for 5 years. You have to remember that I don%u2019t think the iPhone is out there for business people. Without a keyboard or Exchange Server, not many will buy the iPhone for work purposes. No one would want to type out an email without a keyboard. I have not heard if the iPhone will run Outlook yet, but it probably will sooner or later.

I think the market for the iPhone is the hardcore Apple fan that will just have to have it. Limiting it to the AT&T network is pretty good on AT&Ts part, not so good on Apple%u2019s part. Verizon looked at the iPhone and took a pass, so that has to tell you something. Verizon and all the other carriers basically do have an answer to the iPhone, they are called Pocket PC%u2019s. I guess maybe some folks at AT&T knew that going from Cingular to AT&T would hurt them in the cool factor, getting the iPhone is a pretty good way to strike back.

The iPhone is good for consumers though, because it will drive other carriers to improve.
Danny, how many construction workers do you know that are geeky? That being said, I wouldn't ever wear a belt clip either.

I have a xv6700 and I would want a Wing (and a prayer maybe?) I like the looks of this and it seems to have more keys available. As for the processor speed, I use mine for email, Word, Excel and more and the processor on mine seems just fine, although I don't have a lot of add on programs loaded.

I wouldn't doubt that the battery life is about the same, which is to say not good. Regular use has me charging it every day, even more with a bit of use.
How is this different from the Verizon xv6700? Thats what I use and this looks pretty much the same. I thought T-Mobile had a version of that, but I guess not. That being said, the xv6700 has kept me pretty happy. I looked at the specs at T-Mobile and didn't see anything out of the norm from mine.
Crescent, you got the URL wrong. Its Google, if it looked good, I wouldn't claim the design.

I actually read the articles, I sometimes click through for more info. Usually my comments bring up new points (like the one in this thread) or bring more to the table. Either that or I am trying to be funny. What exactly makes this spam?
Thanks Kev, I had been opperating under the assumption that Plasmas still had the issues with screen burn in and were not as good as the LCD's that are out there now. I wouldn't want something this big (63 inches, I would have to sit in my front yard for good viewing in my living room) but is a good Plasma of say 40 or so inches still a good buy?
Crash landed off course? I would imagine most crash landings happen off course. The container is in good shape, but its passengers are of course, still dead. Scotty will be relaunched later on this year, reportedly after undergoing medical testing and training to ensure that he is in fact, still dead.
I thought plasmas were so 3 years ago or something. Isn't LCD the future? If you are going to spend $9K on a TV, shouldn't you just spend a bit more and get state of the art? I mean, if you have that much money to blow on a TV, a bit more won't matter, will it?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
