How would you change the UMPC? {Engadget}
May 4th 2007 11:15AM I still haven't found a situation where I'd prefer one of these over a 12" notebook. Manufacturers can update UMPCs all they want, and while I want one from a gadget geek 'omg that's cool' perspective, I still can't justify the price while a 12" notebook that is easier to use and more capable is at the same pricepoint. So, I guess my main change would be - bring the price down, make them less powerful and bump the battery life, give me a reason to use the device! I don't need to run Vista on a UMPC.
Ask Engadget: Forget the man bag, how about a gadget purse? {Engadget}
May 3rd 2007 6:30PM While the fashion is questionable and the price is too high, I immediately thought of the Sakku. http://www.sakku.ch/en/home.html
Now if only someone could make it cheaper and look better, we'd be set.
It sounds to me though that with all those gadgets and the desire to access them easily, you should go with something more like a messenger bag than a purse - more compartments to keep all your accessories in order and all your gadgets in their home.

Check those results and you will see that AAC (referenced as iTunes in the test) and Mp3 (LAME in the test). The 'overall ratings' at the bottom are the most telling. LAME Mp3 and AAC basically tied. Saying "AAC is far superior to MP3 at all bitrates" is rubbish. Granted, this is a subjective public listening test, but the analysis of the data is solid.
In my opinion, AAC and LAME both suck. Vorbis for the win.

Apr 30th 2007 3:24PM I love it when people pass off subjective opinions as truths.
Here are the facts, decide for yourself: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=AAC
Personally, since I dont bother with small bitrates (the only place where AAC is arguably better), I'll stick to an open format that isn't patented to all hell like AAC. MusePack or OGG for me.
