@Boyo Extra points for working in a Terminator reference with pertinence.
@Kamal What's a matter? Simple math too difficult for you?
@(Unverified) That's what my M4 is for.

There are a lot of other things that I'd like Canon to focus on in the G12 other than HD video. I would like Canon to choose the CCD according to what delivers the best still image. That is what the Canon PowerShot line is for. Still photography.
With regard to locked phones, unlocked versions of most cell phones are available. Not the iPhone but most other phones. So, all of you complaining about locked phones, stop buying them.

iPhone is unique in that an unlocked version is not available, a two year contract is required and AT&T is not subsidizing the phone in anyway. I suspect that this is the issue this man is trying to raise. Using an iPhone requires a two year contract with AT&T AND paying full price for the phone. It's really pretty amazing that people buy it.

To bring a mix into the computer I use an external firewire audio interface. You can a decent 2 channel USB interface about the same or a little more than this thing.

MicPort strikes me as interesting if you have, say, a Shure SM-58 that you want to use to get audio in. That is, you have a mic with specific audio qualities that you want to use to capture. In the case, this is a useful little bit of kit. If you just want a make to make your PODCAST, there are better options.

I didn't use the term podcasting. Why did you reply to me??

Looks like it is about the same price as a Snowball from BlueMic. With the Snowball, you get all that AND a pretty good microphone.

Soo...? You don't have one but you're reading about it and felt the need to make a nasty comment.

How are those sour grapes workin' for ya?

Uh, OK. I thought I was a Mac fan-boy but even I'm not all that impressed with .Mac. I basically pay the .Mac subscription so that I can have the vanity email addresses. .Mac webmail pales in comparison to GMail in my opinion. Most other aspects of .Mac leave it far behind other Web 2.0 offerings.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
