I think I read somewhere, that HD video will only be rentals. Due to hard drive space issues. So it's like, if you want the HD experience, Blu-Ray is still the way to go.
to learn about all the new gadgets...engadget that is!
The Effect has already started. The highest ranked HD-DVD on Amazon's bestsellers list is Planet Earth at #35. There are 14 blu-ray titles before it, with 300(blu-ray) at #1.
No, people do need this kind of advertising. I had two people i know say, "Why would I buy the PS3 when the wii does the exact same thing." then, another friend of my she said after we asked where her wii was, "I brought it upstairs so I can watch DVD's on it." Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash the wii. I have one as well. My point is that the average consumer doesn't know all the specs. If the average consumer knew what the PS3 did, we'd be able to get the sales of the person who didn't know it did so much.
@ Fred
what I meant by "Man...some of you guys got it right...Apple is the new Microsoft." is that Apple is the new company people love to hate...idiot! Also I could careless about rich people calling themselves philanthropist...
Oh no, I mean by adding 3G and GPS, I mean iPhone 2.0. yeah I know it's hardware...

Apple will be adding all these cool features making people not want to hack their phones. Making it a very nice iphone 2.0 for the future. Of couse I'll wait the mandatory 2 months for the $200 "nerd free" discount.

Man...some of you guys got it right...Apple is the new Microsoft.
What I really like about this is, Apple will make firmware update with very hard to resist. I don't have a iphone yet but, by the time 3G and GPS is added, it'll have some much packed into I won't care to hack it....keep up the good work everyone!
Tom Cruise must be laughing his ass off....it's like he was forced to walk the plank of a sinking ship.
Opps...ok, I just read the official press release...Sorry about Transformers...hehe
Not that I really care. Since, I stated ealier that I'm sticking to standard DVD's until I have no choice, the same way DVD took over VHS.

But, I've been reading the other posts about Paramount Movies, particurly "Transformers". Is it only movies directed by Spielberg? Because he wasthe executive producer I do feel that the producer is the one who would make that decision. Since the Producer fronted the money. The producer would get the cut of the sales on everything right? Hope that makes the Bluray fans better....
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
