I own a HD-7, yes its not great in low light but my main concern is the OIS is terrible. Hopefully the low light problem is fixed in the HD-3, but i see it only has digital image stabilization not OIS so it will be even worse than the atrocious stabilization of the HD-7 HDD is much better than mini-dv, transferring videos for editing takes no time with HDD and they use these hard drives in iPods and they don't get destroyed when dropped, so the chance of losing your data is very low. You would have to insane to put up with the inconvenience and much longer capture times associated with mini-dv Long live HD-7 and HDD!
