Why would you not want 2.0?

If a car manufacturer offered you a sunroof for $100 would you not take it?

Wait till an epic title like LOTR Trilogy comes out. That will be an extra $20 well spent.

why are people on a gadget blog if they aren't interested in the latest and greatest?
Might as well wait for USA today reviews.
HDMI SUCKS!!!
I just spent $$$ trying to get the magic "One cable to rule them all"
guess, what... I have spent days trying to get it to work, I still get no audio from my HDCP-compliant video card.
Is it the receivers fault?
Is it the projectors fault?
Is it the cards fault?
Is it the driver?
Is it the OS?

If i can get a reliable, efficient system that is actually plug and play and also allows me to daisy chain...... WOW!!!!! sign me up.

ready the article, it will really open your eyes as to how horrible HDMI is.

some argue that Display port isnt ready... well neither is HDMI.
Why is it perplexing?
Has any CE actually made money on their BD players yet? Any proof of it?
I don't think adding another player in the overpriced market would really help anyone.
Bottom line is that BD players are slow sellers and require refreshing before most CEs can make their money back.
So why would a struggling company throw millions or more in this ring?
Options are:

1. We are in a recession
2. BD sucks
3. Movie studios are producing total crap right now that noone wants to watch.

Take your pick.
@ bob
if the iphone could control more useful devices like a receiver or tv, then the douchebag from the NY iphone commercial can take another device out of his little baggie he carries around all the time and the pilot could remote control the airplane and screw the stupid air traffic controllers that obviously dont look at weather.com for their airport scheduling.

You all know what i'm talking about.
If he doesn't think some channels are worth watching, then why does he force us to pay for them?

One question.
Is everyone counting the FREE spiderman 3 disc packaged with the PS3 as a sold disc?

I would find this VERY bad news for BR.
Over the Air ANALOG signals will be gone. Digital signals are already being broadcast and will stay. NTSC vs ATSC. QAM is for cable only.
Yeah, I guess you are COMPLETELY missing my point.
If Fox is going to implement BD+, it should not disable the disk. Since there is a 2 week wait for FW, at least let them watch the movie instead of the Red screen. Lesser of two evils.
If BDA was actually smarter instead of just being smarter on paper, they would make the disk playable at 480p DPL2 with regular DRM and if the player can decode BD+ thne unlock the 1080p w/ lossless audio.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
