farewell, scott. I don't often comment on stories, but i do always check the author of each story. I have to say, and no offense to the rest of the gang, but you and Erica are my personal favorites. When I first saw your hawaiian shirt in a macworld video, i thought "that guys awesome!" and its true. you will be truly missed!
Yeah we got these at work on friday as well, and I have been playing with them. weight-wise, it feels very simular to the D3, a tad lighter.
love the low-light performance though! I played around with a SB-900—took 38 consecutive shots with the flash firing for each one, and they weren't fresh batteries. nice camera and flash, without a doubt.
methinks that the software will be available very very soon. and, yes, i sometimes do enjoy stating the obvious! but i mean within the next few hours...

hopefully
so... am i the only one who thought of the post about which stars look bad in HD?
the wife looks like she is going to stab her husband with the handheld...
i would use it to browse engadget of course! haha

Also, just about whatever i darn well please to use it for!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
