May 20th 2008 2:33PM I think they were all Mac users. In the later seasons, Charlotte's husband and Alexandr Petrovsky ("The Russian") have PowerBook G4s, etc.
Carrie always had older hardware, while her friends usually had the latest and greatest (at the time).
There was also the episode where her hard drive crashes and she goes to TekServe and has no backups. Her boyfriend buys her an iBook, but she doesn't want it, because she likes her old computer.

May 13th 2008 10:51AM I have a MyBook Studio and it's worked perfect under both Tiger and Leopard (via FW800). I don't see a need at this time to update the firmware.

May 12th 2008 12:42PM Apple has a pretty good release schedule of every 18-24 months for a major OS release. Leopard had a bit of a delay because of the iPhone, though its OS was based on Leopard.
MS is the one with the crazy release schedules.

TUAW is rapidly going downhill. First they break all the Mac news 3-4 days late, and now they bring in a spat of new writers that insult their (dwindling?) readership. Half the posts are for software shills, or software that does something the OS already does (the Thesaurus post).
Lately my Mac news comes from elsewhere first and I'm finding less reasons to keep visiting after all these years.
