@eric
Best comment i have seen on Engadget ever.
"Radical artists" of the past often broke the law of the day in order to push the limits. If this guy was to have sex with an 8 year old boy in order to explore "the ever increasing exploitation and idolization of the young", would you be singing the same tune?
If you read the comments then you will see that a lot of the problem isn't with the art in itself (disturbing as it is), it is the fact that this artist likely has not gained permission from the owner or family of the skull, and is exploiting the skull of a child in a thinly veiled attempt to get notoriety/noticed. A convincingly made fake skull would have served the same purpose.
Unlikely to be exclusively in Japan as the UI is in Korean...
All you photography "experts" complaining about the quality of the photos:
You try taking a photo of a thin black screen encased in a smudged plexiglass box in a dark room and get back to us.

Can't use a flash (as shown in the first photo), low light means a noisy photo if you don't use the flash (as shown in some of the other photos). Also as the screen is so thin that there are only a few angles that you can effectively take the shot from (even less angles are available when you take reflections into account).
Colo(u)r me cynical but he bows with shame not with any sense of regret or remorse, but simply because it will get the media and country off his back and bring the whole thing to a close. He will still be running the company, just not in the spotlight.
re: the Lee comments, in Korea peoples surnames come before their given names (and no, that isn't a meme)
And I certainly believe that we should listen to Anthony

His western-centric view of the world (ie: anyone who can't use the English language like a native speaker is obviously lacking in education) and obvious cultural sensitivity (a user named Sauerkraut surely must be a native English speaker, no?) are a shining example of high level critical thinking skills at their best.
yup, i can imagine how that would go.
"hey guys, check this out!"
...
"Wait for it!"
...
"No seriously, you gotta wait for 6 more minutes"
...
"Guys? Where are you going?"
I live in South Korea. I had a chance to play around with WiMax a while ago on both a laptop and that SPH-H1300 being held in the picture (well, not thos EXACT ones ;). Verdict:
Laptop access= fantastic, just like a wired connection for everyday use (didn't test gaming)
SPH-H1300 = not so fantastic, browser was quite sluggish.
This was about 2 months ago, so there is a chance it was a pre-release model.
I would recommend saying 'noh (or nuh, depending on your FL accent) moo bi ssa yo' If you say what is in the parent post then you may get a few blank stares (it means 'the tree is expensive' ;). Either way people should get the idea I guess...
"A federal judge ruled last week that an Australian government agency holds the rights to patents on the underlying technology used in two Wi-Fi standards and a third proposed standard."

I gotta mark this day down, AMERICANS complaining that AUSSIES are too litigious!

Came for the Aussie bashing, stayed for the stunning displays of hypocrisy...

PS: regarding "CSIRO and aggravation tend to go hand in hand", if it was a US company chasing down a variety of Australian companies refusing to pay deserved royalties, would this article have been worded the same way?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
