Stargate Atlantis: Ghost In The Machine {TV Squad}

Aug 17th 2008 10:51AM The ending was silly.
If SA crew considered the replicators a serious danger then kill them with some finality. Don't Piss 'em off and know they can eventually find a way back. That's plain daft. We all know this is a way of continuing that storyline at some future date, but it's being done in a very amateurish way. Producers come on! Try harder in the future....
To me the whole ep was a waste of time because all it did was bring back the "character" for another future set of eps and little else happened. Except for the Teyla child straw.
Boring ep IMHO.

IndyCar Series signs new television deal with Versus {Autoblog}

Aug 13th 2008 9:49AM The problem with Indycar isn't the channel showing them, it's the outdated and underpowered equipment which isn't due to change until 2011. Meantime A1GP etc. are snapping at their heels for attention (though I still cannot understand how A1 teams survive financially).
Let's hope that Versus do a better job for Indycar, in terms of viewers, than Spike did for Champcar.

REPORT: Cadillac places DTS/STS replacement on hold {Autoblog}

Aug 12th 2008 4:16PM The new CTS is really the old CTS with the current STS's rear.
Problem is the current STS isn't that much bigger than the new CTS so these models now overlap.

The STS being based on the Sigma platform is an issue because this RWD chassis is more expensive to produce than the ZETA platform (under the new Pontiac G8). It goes to show that GM can not really afford 2 RWD platforms which overlap. Perhaps the pause at GM is to get their engineers to come up with a solution to this overlap. How to cost effectively produce a larger Cadillac which could easilly be stretch as and when the time is right for a new DTS.
It's a shame as the STS is a nice car and the DTS has a great number of fans. Both cars get 25mpg on highways by the way. Since GM has bitten the bullet and cancelled the replacement DOHC V8 eninge perhaps a larger Cadillac, down the road, could use the OHV V8 engine which IMHO is at least as good and lighter/smaller in size. That would give a probelm to the marketing people on how to sell a more expensive Cadillac with a similar chassis and engine to Pontiacs etc.

These are all issues which need to be faced NOW and seemingly they are....

Jaguar XFR to debut in Detroit {Autoblog}

Aug 12th 2008 12:11PM Sorry I am just NOT a fan of this car.
It's a heavuilly reworked LincolnLS/Jag S Type chassis. This means it's very competent, but heavy. And the new skin job, just leaves me cold. Where are those gorgeous design inspirators who made Jaguar so famous in years gone by? Long gone is the answer and it shows. IMHO.
