First Drive: 2011 Kia Sorento finally crosses over {Autoblog}
Nov 6th 2009 2:17PM Hmmm decent size, very good performance and 19/27 mpg from the V6 3.5L!! Finally a manufacturer who knows how to dial in excellent mileage. Unlike say a Mercedes ML or GLK which get tops 21/22 mpg. How come other manufacturers cannot get a V6 and tranny to work likewise. The next best is the Nissan Murano at around 24 mph highway....
Review: FlashForward - The Gift {TV Squad}
Nov 6th 2009 10:26AM Just a guess.
I think the plot line will be that the perpetrators of the flash fwd dreams are trying to cause a whole series of events (in the future) causing a climatic final consequence and this we have no knowledge of as yet. Ergo the flash fwds are a way of causing mass hysteria almost forcing a series of minor, seemingle unrelated, events to create the ultimate event. Stopping these individual possible futures could well cause the ultimate event NOT to happen.
Thus the unravelling of the plot will be that the FBI characters trying to explain to people they are still in control of their own destinies...... THEN much later when some success is being obtained these same characters will learn that the thei good work is now likely to cause a very beneficial final event NOT to happen. That's when the characters turn to frustration and drink as they question on which side they should really be...

What were the swirling sands on Stargate Universe? {TV Squad}
Nov 1st 2009 6:16PM Some things are hard to take....
The effective mission commander cannot be risked on every out mission. He needs to delegate. Of course this doesn't make so exciting TV.
A life risking kisssion for minor chunks of ice (which won't provide even a days water for the crew of the vessel) is plain STUPIDITY.
Pleasw writers and producers at least try to make the story threads acceptable.
Review: FlashForward - Gimme Some Truth {TV Squad}
Oct 23rd 2009 10:26AM I would also add that the FBI was shown as totally ineffectual in handling the Senate panel.
All they had to say was the folllowing.
Following our investigations ,jump stated by our agents view of his future office workings, we have made several, what we believe may be critical discoveries.
First while many of us have been worrying about another future black out the simple fact is our worldwide black out was not unique as there have been several other blackouts, albeit on smaller scales, over a period of years. We believe that by following thru on these leads we may well discover evidence pointing us towards the perpetrators of the recent blackout and what technology was being used and developed.
Second: Most believe that the whole world blacked out for 2 mins 17 seconds. Our investigations now have proof that this is not so. We have irrefutable evidence, from several sources, that various persons, continued to be fully active during this period. Infact they communicated with each other via cell phones. We feel it is imperative to contune such line of investigation.
These are 2 examples of the leads from our agents are unearthing unearthing and all are kick started from the start point of a future vision of the LA FBI workplace. We believe therefore this validates our approach as a potential significant contributor to out governments overall investigations.
Had the FBI presented themselves maturely and properly the President would not have had to offer the Senator the VP slot. But I guess this is television after all....

Oct 23rd 2009 9:22AM Actually the CIA comment about the fact that the incident happened at night in China is quite a good point re casualities etc. Then one looks at the apparent race of the 2 sets of attackers and the case builds.
Also the LA FBI building on leads from the visions back, is quite a credible foundation, especially given that it seems most take their visions as most likely to happen. At worst it provides a credible alternative viewpoint. The cost of this line of investigation is inconsequential to the need to nail down what really is happening.
Now we have a President who is so incapable and ineffective that he needs to offer a VP position in order to allow an FBI investigation to continue? Gimme a break........

Oct 19th 2009 6:28PM Woodenbee,
That's one great question. I know that the torque of an electirc motor is quite high so it needs a sturdy design. I also know that Tesla dpecced out their own design (single speed by Borgwarner). So I guess until a lot more electric cars are built the gearbox will be a difficult choice let alone at a low price.

Oct 19th 2009 5:06PM A terrific conversion to an all electric car. I am unsure why it still needs a 4 speed manual gearbox though....
Stargate Universe is starting to remind me of Firefly {TV Squad}
Oct 18th 2009 12:25PM This series is slow gaing pace as there are tooo many characters and the plot is all over the place. SG1 was great because the roles were well defined and undertstandable. Thus the characters could have time to build.
