FCC approval ensures American Sony Ericsson X1 users aren't bandits {Engadget}
Oct 4th 2008 8:28AM The X1 was launched on 30th, but will take 10 days to reach shops in the UK. Vodafone will have it around 17th Oct. There have no reviews with the retail version so difficult to say too much about the usability of the keyboard, but the Panel interface does seem much faster in recent reviews of proto devices.
Nokia hints at new touch-based Communicator {Engadget}
Oct 3rd 2008 3:02AM When will people accept hat we are all different. Not everyone wants an iPhone or a touch scree device. You try composing a SMS while walking or try to use a touch scree device when you only have one hand free. Button based devices have a role to play and the majority of devices are not touch screen. Also the Nokia 9500, predecessor to the E90, was the most popular device for Nokia employees. why, because like the E90 it is not a bad laptop replacement that has great comms features and DVD quality video capture. The Communicators are not main stream but no other manufacturer can compete with Nokia in this area.

Oct 2nd 2008 2:41PM The Nokia 7710 is a wonderful forgotten device. Has a 640x480 resolution. I am actually happy that it was not famous as only a few 100,000 were made - very exclusive :)

Sep 26th 2008 7:53AM Nokia had a touch screen high res device many years ago - the Nokia 7710. It was a wonderful device for its time. 640x480 res!

Sep 20th 2008 10:07AM First we had reception problems, then we learned about all the security holes and now a poorly designed mains plug.
Next we'll find that the OS is not flexible enough to support multi-tasking requiring applications like A2DP and true Sat Nav.
iPhone 2.1 update: the aftermath {Engadget}
Sep 14th 2008 6:46AM Its like living in a parallel universe. The iPhone has so many problems but reviewers still give it a 5 gold star rating and the circus goes on now that Apple have introduced more problems with email. If more high profile online and magazine reviewers had been honest perhaps Apple would have spent more effort in getting their software right. Why should they care - they are selling millions of iPhones.

Sep 14th 2008 6:43AM What the iPhone still does not navigation? But we saw TomTom screens months and months ago!
Poll: Is firmware 2.1 actually boosting your signal? {Engadget}
Sep 13th 2008 4:22PM How can this phone have received so much praise when launched by some many reviewers if it has all these faults that were supposed to be fixed. I hear the PIN by-pass problem has been patched but not mentioned by any members as far as I can tell. So the iPhone is now better at making phone calls - great progress and innovation :)
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 scores cameo on Vodafone's site for October release {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 23rd 2008 3:27AM We get all the great devices first and we end-up paying more then anyone else. Just wonderful to be in the UK :-)
How would you change Nokia's E71? {Engadget}
Aug 23rd 2008 2:56AM My Euro E71 used in the UK has outstanding call quality and battery life.
The only thing I would change is to upgrade a video recordng to the E90 level (DVD quality @ 30fps)
