To all the people who think this is gross and should be hidden away: Why should a nursing mother have to worry about THE SIGHT of her breast offending other people? That's ridiculous! The only person she should worry about is her baby. It's not very comfortable for the baby to have a blanket draped across it's face and besides, a baby that age pulls it off faster than a mother can put it back on.

You can't compare breastfeeding in public to defecating and urinating in public! For one thing, poop and pee smell bad and are germy and health hazards to other people. That is why people don't do it in public. There is no health hazard to others involved with breastfeeding. So why in the world should anyone DARE to think a nursing mom should hide just because they don't like to see it. Too bad. That's just not a good enough reason. There might be a lot of things about other people I find offensive but I don't have the right to tell other people to hide! Maybe I hate seeing women running around with disgusting hairy armpits but it would be arrogant of me to tell them to go cover themselves up.

Good grief. All these people who are so grossed out by breastfeeding must really have some unhealthy attitudes about their own sexuality.

And as for that photo of Maggie, she might have been in an out of the way corner not very visible to the public for all we know.
