Fan Rant: Please Don't Let Paul W.S. Anderson Direct 'Metal Gear Solid' {Cinematical}
Nov 16th 2009 12:14PM Considering how much of a hack Kojima is, why would letting a hack like Anderson be a problem? MGS is not an example of a great video game script with its constant stream of surprises that come out of nowhere, nonsensical humor, and dialogue that makes George Lucas look like Shakespeare.
Whoa! AT&T has had enough of the Verizon slams {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 13th 2009 2:07PM As an iPhone owner who jumped from Verizon to AT&T with the original launch, I hope Verizon keeps hitting AT&T as hard as they have been. Maybe then we'll have a network worthy of the iPhone.
CBS picking up Shit My Dad Says from Twitter account {TV Squad}
Nov 10th 2009 12:39PM Considering how close the stuff quoted in Twitter is to the stuff my own father has belted out on occasion (despite being 15 years younger than his dad), I'd say the twitter account was being fairly accurate.
'Ridgemont High' Inspirations Are Now Protective Parents {Cinematical}
Nov 10th 2009 12:15PM It's one thing when it's a bunch of anonymous know-nothings doing what teenagers do. It's another when you were one of them and you're trying to raise your children. Showing them a movie like this based on your life at the time is tacit approval of the stupid stuff everyone does which only encourages more stupid stuff since "mom did it." It negates the lessons learned from hindsight and reflection that happened in the years between being a stupid kid and a less stupid adult (as I've described myself).
If the kids up and finds it on their own, that's a different thing all together and just in keeping with the idea that kids will do what kids will do.
The voice of Oprah rules over all 'Life' on Earth {TV Squad}
Nov 9th 2009 4:43PM As much as I enjoy Sigorney Weaver's work, I looked high and low for Planet Earth with David Attenborough's voice over. It really is a hell of a difference since Attenborough brings a totally different read to the narrative that wasn't there during the episodes aired by Discovery Channel.
Breakfast Topic: How far would you let WoW microtransactions go? {WoW}
Nov 9th 2009 8:25AM I wouldn't mind seeing more of these "toys" purchasable in game. As long as Blizzard doesn't charge for usable gear (Brewfest clothing is ok, armor is not), money, or levels then I honestly don't see the issue. Blizzard is smart enough to know not to kill a cash cow; they've proven it time and time again by making the game better even with TCG loot and other external sources of in game items. Why would they suddenly get stupid?
Guess who took this photo of Sean Hannity {TV Squad}
Nov 6th 2009 3:51PM Yes, imagine that...people who disagree politically not insulting each other on sight.
Patch 3.3 PTR: Quest tracking feature {WoW}
Nov 6th 2009 1:55PM You could also use TourGuide in combination with this addition. That would give you the best path for any zone you're leveling in.
Patch 3.3 PTR: Get a pug when you PUG {WoW}
Nov 5th 2009 3:22PM I love pugs, especially my mother's pug, Frank. As soon as I get this pet, I'll dub him Frank, too.

Nov 5th 2009 12:17PM Do you need the Pandaren for melee dps? Does Lil KT give you a super buff against Naxx bosses? No. You don't need it.
The day blizzard starts offering high level weapons for cash I'll riot alongside everyone here. For this? I paid my $20 happily.
