NPD: Windows 7 sales 234% higher than Vista's first few days {Engadget}

Nov 5th 2009 6:34PM Shouldn't make a HUGE difference as the same program existed during the Vista launch. People who had bought XP computers could upgrade for free to Vista within a certian time window before the Vista launch.

Coalition of carriers, manufacturers settles on voice standard for LTE {Engadget}

Nov 4th 2009 11:56AM The rest of the world is basically like that with GSM. If you are in Europe, you can go out and buy any phone and be safe it will work with the carrier of your choice. And Europe will still be that way with LTE, but even here in America with Verizon switching from CDMA to GSM's adopted LTE standard, you will still have Sprint and other small carriers that will stick with propietary versions of CDMA and move on to WiMax to supplement data coverage.

T-Mobile: we probably lost all your Sidekick data {Engadget}

Oct 10th 2009 6:58PM They were running some flavour of Unix, not anything Microsoft or Windows. Microsoft bought Danger in 2008, but I would say more than anything else that it was Danger's setup of their servers and not Microsoft that caused this problem. Because a proper setup in Unix/Lunix would include a proper backup strategy.

How would you change Microsoft's Zune HD? {Engadget}

Oct 10th 2009 12:03AM I disagree. On the iPhone, iPod Touch you can only change the volume. On the Zune, you push one button and swipe up or down to change the volume or left and right to switch tracks. This is extremely useful while browsing or in a game where I can just hit the media button and quickly change volume or change tracks.

Sure newer iPhones and iPod touches allow you to change tracks with earphones, but with this setup I can use any headphones I want.

FCC says there's a 'looming spectrum crisis' {Engadget}

Oct 7th 2009 1:07PM How about working with Europeans to make sure the frequencies are the same instead of America always having a different operating spectrum than the rest of the world.

Bell nabs iPhone deal in Canada, ends Rogers' reign of terror {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2009 9:27AM You mean other than the fact that Rogers owns Fido?

Pretty sad when an American knows more about Canadian telecoms than a Canadian.

Zune HD a major sellout? {Engadget}

Sep 19th 2009 1:19PM Called several walmarts... finally got a 16GB Black. The woman on the phone said they had just sold out their last two platinum 32GB.

Zune HD review {Engadget}

Sep 17th 2009 1:03PM If you watched the App video posted in the review, you will notice that while Calculator loaded slowly there was no advert whatsoever.

Obviously I think Microsoft needs to speed up load times and rethink the whole app experience.

Zune HD unboxing and hands-on {Engadget}

Sep 15th 2009 1:43AM I'm gonna have to pick me up one from Zune Originals eventually... I'm thinking blue...
