Same here, I love my HDTV because it accepts 1080p over component. It frees up one of my hdmi slots for my PC.
P.S.- Sorry for the text wall.
@Velsar

Seriously, climb down off the soapbox for a few seconds and calm down. First of all who cares about what tea bagging is or is not. It is slang, it may be immature or whatever you want to say but that is what it is called. It doesn't have to be in the Webster's Dictionary to be accepted, deal with it.

I don't know about you, but everyone else that I know uses slang in everyday conversation. Just because you refuse to accept common slang for an action does not make it an invalid term. At the end of the day tea bagging will still be tea bagging and my testicles will in fact still be my balls.

To the second part of your rant, you are calling people juvenile, idiots etc. but your response is just as juvenile. Grow up, it is just a game and most people do it in jest. I can't even imagine playing Halo if I was going to have a fit of rage every time someone humped my dead body. (Note that Bungie calls this contest 'Humpday Challenge')

You are seriously concerned about the image of tea bagging to the non-gaming community? Personally, I am a bit more worried about them attempting to make direct links to violence in games and violence in real life.

Which brings me to another point: are you seriously suggesting that someone who tea bags someone in Halo would seriously consider doing that in real life? If you honestly believe that your calls for psychological help me be pointed in the wrong direction.

I (and countless others) down voted you because your argument was nonsensical, not because of my own personal maturity level. Most mature adults can step back and make rational arguments. Not to mention mature adults can usually shy away from directly insulting and putting people down.

If you were trying to make a reasoned argument for better gaming etiquette you completely failed. You did achieve at complaining and calling people idiots, but not much else.

One last note on slang. It is an accepted part of the English language. Why do you think "slang" is a word? http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=slang
You may not agree with UrbanDictionary(dot)com because it has offensive language, (check the dictionary, it does too!) but I bet you a hundred Monopoly dollars that you couldn't find a better slang resource anywhere. Furthermore, slang often becomes accepted into the dictionary. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=googled http://www.fool.com/investing/dividends-income/2006/07/05/to-google-or-not-to-google.aspx (I even googled 'googled' just to provide an example. I hope your head doesn't explode.)

@laser

It has nothing to do with that it has to do with:

A.) Everyone thinks Pachter's full of crap and anyone who justifies what he says is getting down voted;

B.) There is absolutely no market indications that show his prediction makes any sense;

C.) No one here wants to believe it if its true, what would we argue about then?

and most importantly...

D.) We already own a PC.
Why is everyone worried about Aliens and Mayans, its the Zombies that we should be worried about!
@Wired

You must be confused, Microsoft as a whole in the red?

You are joking right?
Think about the people who have had the RROD, gotten a refurbished console only to have it do the E74 error. This just happened to my friend literally two weeks after one year. Microsoft told him $120 on the phone.

I'm sorry, but that is just plain bull shit. The 360's entire warranty should be extended to three years. If they can't do that, then at least every refurbished console needs to get an extended warranty, since most of those were literally broken to begin with.

I've never had any problems with my 360 (knock on wood) but I did have one stolen, which is just as bad, if not worse than a RROD.

I love the 360 but this is ridiculous!!
I don't know what video I watched but I thought he did put the second disc in. Not that I would blame anyone for falling asleep before the video finished.
I hope that people who don't fall in step with the changes are not instantly labeled as whiners and sent on their way somewhere else.

Personally, I think we all understand why the changes were made. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the new UI looks great, and the network is deadly efficient. However, I think when a lot of us critique the new site it is because it is so streamlined.

Justifiably or not, when things are streamlined they get the sense of being impersonal, whether that is the case or not. It takes time for people to get adjusted to changes, especially when there was a lot to like before.

I think it would be a mistake to dismiss those who are not 100% enthralled with everything right now. There has been a lot of constructive feedback already and your team has been out in full force in the comments replying, which I think is great. I know everything will eventually get better, that is why I'm still reading, and I hope others stick it out too.

The most disappointing thing I have seen is in the commenting, but there is not much anyone can do. I rarely, rarely post on Joystiq because of the Fernando Rocker's of the world, and the 1,000 others waiting to take his place. That is the price anyone pays with a large site. It is just a shame that this is now trickling into the Xbox site as well, something that X3F had been fairly immune to.

Good luck with the transition, I'll be reading regularly and looking forward to more community building content.
This was supposed to be a response to: Mauricio - GT: Zed Word
Mauricio - GT: Zed Word @ Feb 3rd 2009 4:45PM

For w/e reason it got dumped to the end, and yes I did press reply. I have this issue a lot when I use my AIM screename to comment.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
