All I can say is I strongly disagree with your point. In fact I am typing this on a Mini 9 right now. Let me address some of the issues you had.

Space. Yes, 16 Gb is not a lot, but I have 10.5.6 with iWork, iTunes, Office 2008, and several other applications. You should really invest in Xslimmer, because it shaves several Gbs off the disk.

Keyboard. Frankly, I find the smaller keys much easier to type on than those larger ones on a HP for instance, but this is of course a personal preference. Having said that, no, it is not a keyboard you'd want to type War and Peace on, but with tools such as Textexpander it helps a lot.

Screen. True, the Mac has become accustomed to living on larger displays, but with Writeroom and the full page option in Papers, and with Safari's chrome taking up so little space, it isn't really a problem for me. There are just a few preference modals that do not fit onto the screen properly, but you can adjust the display scaling per app, so that too is resolvable.

Trackpad. OK, I'll give this one to you. It is finicky, too prone to accidental touches, and doesn't do two fingered gestures. But seeing as how it has BT built in (in mine at least), getting a BT mouse would have added $10 to the list.

Furthermore, as has been pointed out already, you can't beat the price and weight. I would of course vastly prefer a Mac Netbook, and I really think if they hit the right marks they can own this segment. A friend of mine bought a 10" Samsung netbook, which has a much better keyboard and resolution, but the reason why I chose a Dell (which is something I never thought I'd do) is that OSX runs on it like a dream. In fact, it feels quicker than Windows on the same hardware. I have had no problems with apps being sluggish, and as soon as the display opens it is awake, something my MacBook wasn't able to do (only took a second or two, but still). It is a testament to the developers of Leopard that it can run so well on this under-powered a device. Try running Vista to see what I mean. I can't wait for Snow Leopard to arrive, that'll be even sweeter.

p.s. It arrived with Windows, because the Linux version was too low specced, and you couldn't up it, probably at Microsoft's behest. Anyway, when I got it, all the extra keys were in the wrong position, the colon didn't even work. How's that for an introduction to the Microsoft way of things?
Same problem here in the Netherlands: 1000 iPhones FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY! Bastards! I had to wait in line for three hours, they had helped about two dozen people by then, and they had already sold out the white one.
Did you see the lag in resizing the photo? Also, why is there a mouse cursor if it's a touch screen? In the first few minutes the system seems to lose about half the touches, fingerswiping is too abrupt and simply pointing to a picture means waiting for five seconds. Seriously, five seconds? To display a picture?
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but there's nothing reputable about nu.nl, it's just a scuzzy news aggregator with a heavy accent on gossip. Vodafone, or indeed any major carrier, would be great news though.
Bring out the gimp-bot!
Well, as a MacBook owner, I'd have to say it looks pretty sweet. In fact, hardware-wise, Sony is the only laptop maker to be able to compete with Apple, also because they have more models and a faster refresh rate. But, as a Mac user, I will never go back to Windows which kinda kills the deal for me.
Great, now I can stash my porn in my furry beaver...

"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
