I totally see this happening with Comcast's new cap and the ones that will trickle down to everyone else.
When I need to decide between

A) Buying a game
B) Surfing the internet
C) Watching streaming content
D) Online gaming
E) Buying digital HD movies/tv shows

to stay under that cap (or soon to yours "pay per GB"), I'm gonna guess that your "Physical media is dead" attitude will change a bit.
Yea it's almost like today is Friday the 13th
Actually I find one problem with Invaders theory.

We have no real data (someone might) that casual gamers will even buy into a 2nd gen of the Wii. I'm going to guess when the Wii2 comes out, Nintendo will have to keep supporting the Wii because there will be many who won't buy the next one for a while. It hasn't even been 3 years since launch.

Your comparison to Apple has it's flaws because Apple has a rabid following(Sure Nintendo does too, but those aren't casual gamers.), but I'm going to guess where Apple has the most market penetration (iPods), there aren't a whole lot of people who buy a new one every year (I could be wrong on how many people are that stupid).
I think Ballmer has really come into his own. Between this and the Gizmodo interviews, he comes off as incredibly approachable and likable while not just spouting the company line.
So you mean a commercial where they don't just bash the competition? Weird.
Finally I can read comic books in color! Reading in grayscale is horrible for some.
@Detox

Do you really need things spelt out?

Microsoft's cut from every computer sold is a hell of a lot smaller than Apples because Microsoft doesn't make the damn thing and brand it.

Really a fair comparison would be to take all those computers running Windows (Dell, HP, Sony, etc.) and add up those profits, which will leave your "OMG 170 Billion" crying like the little girl it is.
Interesting read, but I'd call the Sprint Hero anything but sluggish. Even as a stock rom, the thing runs incredibly. HTC optimized Sense extremely well.
Wait, that's your list and you almost went iPhone? Yea, that makes sense.

I'm guessing once you can get those specs, you'll complain it doesn't have a teleporter/stun gun/time machine, etc.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
