Does anyone have a list of stores that are being acquired?
I have a love/hate relationship with Vista. I kinda like the new Office, the new start menu works well, but overall I think Vista is the buggiest version of Windows to date. nVidia has yet to get a set of Video drivers to work properly. Quicktime still has many glitches which drive me crazy although it is slightly better. I am still afraid to run iTunes 7.3.2 after my system died after the lauch of the iPhone and I did not even purchase an iPhone. Plus the MediaCenter has yet to get the bugs worked out and I still see jittery video from my TV tuner.

(sigh)

I do not think SP1 can fix these problems.
Yea, I need I nice little 12" MacBook Pro to pack in my gadget bag with all of my camera equipment on photo shoots.
Perhaps I will give more credit to Pentax now they are owned by Hoya. Personally, I am a Canon man owning an AE-1 and the 350D (Rebel XT). The same way that my friend is a Nikon guy who has never owned anything but a Nikon.

The only people that I know that are more brand loyal than Canon and Nikon people are the Pentax group. They swear by their cameras.
Forget how soon can I get one from Cingular. How soon is this thing going to be available from Rogers in Canada. The unlocked RAZR V3 that I purchased from Rogers has been a 3 times better phone than any of the crap I have seen from Cingular. The Cingular RAZRs were dying in just a few month while my unlocked international RAZR has been through hell in the last year and still works perfectly.
I cannot believe that the Moto RIZR is still not on the market. Wasn't this phone introduced to the public at the same time as the KRZR last year?
I do not care how much it costs, I am going to have this power my HD setup as soon as it is available to the public.

Vista MCE beats anything available from Apple.

I am not a fan of this running Vista so I might have to build a new XP box. (Damn! did I just say that? Sheesh!)
Thank you! That is the second time I have seen that mistake on gadget board in the last week.

I have had fewer issues with Protected Content on Vista than I have had with XP Media Center. I have not been prevented from watching On-Demand content or HBO with Vista like MCE 2005 because of the broadcast flag. I have not had the DRM lock outs within Media Player 11 like I had with version 10 where I had to go in and hack my own system to play songs that I own.

I don't want to bash Vista too hard because it is a good OS. It is just a PITA to deal with because all enabling of DRM slowed down the system. Aero uses way too many resources for too few benefits. And the overall "system protection" is PITA because is stall the computer every time I want to copy a file from one drive to another. Or when I want to delete a file or download something that has been sent to me via my FTP site.

Vista is not bad, but it is not good. But look on the other side. Ubuntu 7.04 (Fiesty Fawn) is just as bloated as Vista when comparing it to ver 6.06 (Dapper Drake).
I already have too many licenses of Vista to count. Not true, but I have 3 Home Premium, 10 Business and 1 Ultimate. And I will not say that Vista is "BAD," but it is filled with quirks like nothing that I have not seen to date. It bluescreens like mad. It has strange quirks that are difficult to understand like the inability to change the color of apps like Office 2003 from the basic blue that is surrounded by AeroGlass transparent frames. (Yes, I know I can change the color of the 2007 Office apps to silver and black from blue, but I am not comfortable of using it to complete work for clients using compatibility mode.)

That said, I have a every machine running Vista setup on dual boot with XP also available. If anything, Seagate has made out very well because I have added another hard drive to my desktops to accomodate the Vista partitions while keeping a complete XP setup.

Yes, Vista is pretty. Yes, Vista recovers from hibernating quickly. It works well. And it has very few compatibility issues. But it is a PITA with all the blanking of screen and halting operations fro 10 seconds to ask me if I can access another HD on my PC or to launch an application from the web.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
