I had a Fujitsu Deathbook that crapped out just after the warranty. It was a known design flaw and thousands of them had been frying. Fujitsu blamed it on ATI and ATI blamed it on Fujitsu. Fujitsu would not make good on the repairs so you either had to lay out $500 for repairs or have a nice looking doorstop. I considered it lesson learned and chose the doorstop. I now have a Core Duo Toshiba Satellite and I am very pleased with it. As far as I'm concerned Fujitsu ripped off a lot of people.
I really wanted a Cowon but I could not find any stores in my area that had one. I like to hold it in my hand and try it out before I buy it but it was not possible. I purchased the Archos 504 40gb. So far I am very pleased, I got the store demo model for $200 Canadian. I would recommend it but I have heard so many good things about the Cowon products.
Fujitsu laptops look nice but they are poorly designed inside. Make sure you get the super duper extended warranty.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
