@kastonie what you're seeing in the screenshot is the route selection view, which is 2D. when you're navigating, you have the option of 2D or 3D.
well, i actually own a Dash and i'm keeping it. even though it's big and clunky, as you say. i knew what i was getting into with a v1.0 product, but every software update just keeps getting better.

they're definitely not for everybody, but nothing is. i believe this device has advantages over similar devices in key areas that i deem important. if you find other features more important, buy something else.
i don't mind vista much. i don't have a ten year old printer.
okay since nobody else has mentioned it, i stopped watching battlebots when it stopped being about robots fighting and started being about the bimbo hostess and the two stupid idiot hosts droning on and on and on.

i'm thinking espn means there's just gonna be more stupid droning. sadly.
PLZ CAN HAS DIS SHINY DEVICE?

yeah why did they build a robot for hitler?
can has plz dis shiny device?
i'm guessing that when you participate in one of these, any new technologies you invent or patents you apply for become property of the xprize corporation? that might keep any big corporation from competing.

the auto makers are struggling with numbers as it is. paying engineers to produce a car that is not marketable, and then (possibly) being required to give away the technology they invent in the process, is not a real attraction for a financially ailing company.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
